Morning all, and happy birthday Dayo. Ron/Oddy: since yesterday, I don't seem to be able to browse this thread without logging in, which I don't always want to do. Is this some brutal unilateral European penal bureaucratic edict against innocent Brits, or have I just done something clumsy? If so, how do I correct it ? Was it just me, or did Austrian Conchita bear a suspicious resemblance to Maurice in the Victor Chandler ads ?
Just popped back to say 'what a bloody thread' marvellous! Happy birthday, Dayo, hope you enjoyed it, the Eurovision was just for you! Jeez, even got UncleCracker talking about something other than horseracing! Have said for years that this 'contest' has now become geopolitical, and nothing to do with music. Look back from when it started with Volare, and you'll see the gradual downward trend on the graph?
Every year we watch it and swear to never watch it again as you could cast the votes without the songs. Didn't watch it last night as Amanda was singing in one of the town bars and no-one wanted to go home. Didn't bother to record it as the TV reception was frustrating. No doubt there will be some on YouTube.
Sound like its already on next years calender for you swan , I wont ask who you voted for I will give you a tip for next year though stick is entering a loverly singing filly called sheeza geeza may be worth an ew
Owner, trainer, breeder Mary Evans has had four winners in the last five years but from limited runners. Today she debut's MOUNTAIN OF ANGELS 40-1 Ludlow 2.15 who is a half sister to two of their other winners MAIZY MISSILE and REEL MISSILE the latter who won on debut! The little interesting fact aside all this though is that all four winners were ridden by todays pilot Paul Moloney. Maybe not the best of reasons to have a blind punt on a yard that hasn't even had a runner this year but interesting enough for me to suggest a small each way. The other stat that I find very compelling is theat David Pipe is 4 from 5 in Plumpton bumpers and THE HAIRY KOALA fresh from winning Eurovision has a favourites chance of adding to that impressive tally. His only runner at the meeting!
Happy birthday Dayo. Nothing of any real interest for me today so I'm backing Evan Williams at Ludlow and Christope Smoullion at Longchamp
UncleC, I can't wait! Actually, I didn't even watch it, it's just too damn long for me. However, reading this great thread, felt that I had seen the whole thing. The bearded lady wins, from nearby Austria too, bloody marvellous. I will be 'on' Sheeza Geezer, for sure. Heard she is booked eventually to be mated with Shudda Haddim? Sorry, that was awful, back to the football reviews, looks interesting today (and tomorrow!). Have a good day!
Cheers fellas for the birthday wishes - much appreciated - sat at the Oval now watching Surrey play and it's f***ing freezing !! Lunch at 1 so time for a few bevvies then.
16.15 Ludlow - Memorabilia. Made a note lto that this one had won in a fast time and won very easily. So, being also a C&D winner I'll have to stick with it.
