I used to get moaned at a lot for not talking but argued that I did and often got others standing up for me. I'm not the loudest person in the world but the people that need to hear me do which is enough most of the time. When we first started we constantly went on about communication because most of the players hadn't played much eleven-a-side before. What a few of us noticed was the communication did start to come after a few months but it wasn't the right kind, our players were being critical and moaning that someone had taken the wrong decision. Took us ages to get positives thinking into them but we are there now. IMO, this discourages some as not everyone has a football mind. I (along with a few others) get frustrated with people because I see things happening but others don't. for example; on Tuesday, we had a throw-in and one of our lads is a bit of a Rory Delap so we usual get in the box. I was hanging about three or four yards outside the area and a few of the lads were shouting at me to get closer to goal, I refused but couldn't say why. After the game a couple of them asked me; I pointed out that their 6'4" CB that had been getting his head on everything was bloody marking me!!!
All I know is the goals conceded generally didn't come from our left....and our RB didn't create a shed load of goals... Work that simple problem out.....
We were more solid when Johnson was injured is worrying, especially when you consider we had to play Cissokho as a result
I can be pretty loud, I had the nickname of Zippy I stand by it though. It makes all the difference and is very easy. I cant for the life of me understand why no one in our defence can do it. Simple, BR says, listen to Skrtel.......if i can read a game and be a mouthy twat Im sure Skrtel can. Honestly, I cant understand why having someone who shouts is a problem for us, just do it. Lose your inhibitions and just ****ing get into it, be aggressive and encourage! Same as you, Ive seen things when playing and gone off on one and mates have said "you read it well and not everyone can" but in a game you have to. Okay, they might not be able to read it well but when you're barking instructions, then at least follow that. It confuses me as to how this cant be done Like I say, for our def it shouldnt be an issue. We're talking about a simple job for professionals ffs
Yeah but not in a proper game. I was sort of on the receiving end of one of these on Tuesday though; I was told by three different players to mark number five at a throw-in, one of them started screaming it over and over because I hadn't done it. I turned around to him and shouted "which one is number ****ing five FFS???" as I was stood in front and couldn't see the shirt numbers Used to turn up to training with earphones in listening to music. fair to say, he never got the ball never mind getting picked
Ah I do miss it pal. My team has been doing okay since I havent played. They text how you getting on etc, when can you play etc. We're talking 11 months now, proper ****ed it up They were great, they all rushed over and held my leg until paramedics come, other team ****ed off sharpish after ref called the game off The loud snap probaby made them **** off Team mate were giving me water and making sure i didnt pass out and swallow my tongue etc and were talking to me and keeping my leg out of my sight. They all felt very sick afterwards I was just grateful when paras turned up and they pumped drugs into me I'll play again mate, cant imagine not
Similar for me but had the jokers offer to shake my left hand I had to hold my own arm though, especially after the very **** sling they attempted My mates rang for an ambulance but I'd have been better off getting in a car as I had to wait 45mins for them to arrive. It had started to hurt by the time the got there. They then dumped me in A&E waiting area and it was another hour before they saw me. As it was a weekend, they just wrapped it and sent me away to go back on the Tuesday for a x-ray. On the Tuesday they told me it was broke (no **** ) and booked me in for a operation for the Thursday telling me broken bones aren't urgent for the first twelve days!!! My operation was then delayed to the Friday morning. #awesomenhs PS...the other week I played against one of the lads that was on the opposite team when I did my arm. He didn't realise it was me but heard him say the last time he played against us "some lad" broke his arm. About four of my team mates pointed straight at me saying "it was his fault". I had the last laugh though, they guy said I'd taken it like a man, no screaming, moaning, etc, just accepted and got on with it
Thing is when we had Cissokho, he was awful but would listen to instruction 100%. If someone asked for a pass, straight away, someone ask him to carry the ball he would, Johnson doesn't listen to orders, he does what he wants tbh.
assuming it wasn't bollocks, be interesting to see which club(s) were willing to meet his wage demands, as i hope we don't offer him one and get rid. he is an ok player, but the wages he is on is taking the piss big style for what he offers, or doesn't as the case is most of the time.
Henderson seems like a talker on the pitch, I think we've missed that in the last couple of games as well as his physical presence... he's back today isn't he?
Another Scary thought is that Johnson pretty much cost as much as Zab, Kompany, DMCS and Clichy together
Quite possibily but it doesn't alter the initial fact that he was hugely overpriced and Zab and Kompany are among the PLs best value signings ever.
