I wonder how FIFA/the FA choose these people - is it based on who can have the nuttiest, most short sighted, least considerate and most money-driven ideas??? this will ruin our superb league pyramid, one of the things this country actually does right! Playing man united reserves will give us games with players who barely care, fans who don't care etc. and that's before we consider the sheer logistics of the thing! - Could there be transfers between the A and B sides? (ie could man united B borrow rooney for a crucial last day of the season?) - Where would they be played? - who decides which premier league teams get B sides and who cant? - If a side is relegated from the PL, do they get to keep their B team? - Do B teams get to compete in play-offs even though they cant get promoted? - Does the 5th tier now turn professional? that's a few off the top of my head, sure ive missed something horribly obvious, but the main point is how uncompetitive the league will become. I strongly hope this idea doesn't go through, and greg dyke is deluded if he thinks we will find the new xavi/iniesta etc by playing in the conference against conference sides
Best I have seen so far Accrington Stanley have put a comment out they are now going to start a B team & enter it in the Premier League. The other about promotion what if all ten teams finish 1-10 that has killed the play offs stone dead. My own opinion for what it is worth until they stop Premier teams stockpiling players just to stop somebody else having them it will never change
Hi Guys, don't know if you've already done your own thing or whether you have seen my thread, can you sign the petition please, that can be found on here...http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/261467-Article-B-Teams-Petition-Gillingham-FC-Football Thanks
Another crazy idea .I wonder what they will think of next. Maybe wycombe can borrow Barcelona b team for next season lol
I don't understand. There is a Barclays Under 21 Premier League and Under 18. What is wrong with that. I must say that the facilities etc are far superior in France. I live in what's called an agricultural area yet, in every town (and some are not big enough to be called a town) they have the most fantastic sports facilities, all having several pitches, modern sports hall for indoor football matches and training (and other sports), and some also have really good artificial surfaces. They all have a main pitch with modern grandstands. They have football tournaments at all age groups from 6 upwards. At the 11 and under age group they move into a proper league adopting all the FA Rules. The earlier age groups don't have a league but they play tournaments (no off-sides) on alternate Saturdays with training on the other Saturdays and also on Wednesdays (when there is no school). Each age group have their own training coaches and they also have sponsors. (Eg my grandson plays in the 9 and under and they are sponsored by major supermarket/hypermarket Carrefour). As you may have gathered, I am very impressed by the set up here and I'm impressed with the skills of these youngsters. Clearly there has been some major investment as all the stadia around here are very new looking. They have invested heavily from the grass roots upwards and I suspect that it will be rewarded with another World Cup at some stage.
how about turning the league on its head so the prem is now the 4 devision the championship can play as the SPL and the welsh league can become the conference just think how that will help the england team. could man city do a rangers?? with arsnel chasing?
how about fouls only count if their committed against English players? should help eliminate the competition no worries....
