....what would you do about Bullard. If, as according to today's Fail (BULLARD) he is willing to take a pay-off, what would be the tipping point? He has 2 years left on his contract, worth £5m. If he leaves he will likely go to either QPR or Ipswich. How much would you pay him to go now? Assem Allam is very wealthy, but if I was him and we could get Bullard down to £1m I'd say thanks for nothing, now foocough! If he wants any more I'd tell him to go and play with the Juniors for the next 2 years.
I would offer him 1.5mill to go, but only if he went to QPR. If we wanna go up this year we can't be selling to rivals especially when he's one of the best players in the league. If he doesn;t take it, play him. we've got to. If he does, go and get some decent players, the likes of Ayala, Nugent, Danns and Mannone. We need to move on now!
I'd go up to a years salary to write off the two years on his deal. Ideally, he'd go for less but that's how far I'd go to be shot of him. Anyone who thinks a pay off suddenly means we have money to throw around this season is probably a bit naive. Any pay-off will still come out of the budget for this season. Unless Mr Allam is happy to throw away more of his own money. Which is stupid, IMO, the club has to pay for itself.
Not sure I get that. We are budgetted to pay him £2.5m this year and £2.5m next year. If we pay him off £1.5m right now, that instantly reduces the actual against the budget for this year by £1m and for next season by £2.5m. If the budget remains unaltered that wil free up money this season and next. Only if Assem adjusts the budget will that fact change.
Sorry, I should have clarified that. I meant unless the pay-off is really low. I'd expect it to be in the £2m range. In which case, there isn't suddenly a load of money to spend, not until next season. I'm just preparing the ground so people don't think we'll pay off Jimmy and start throwing money around as a result.
I don't subscribe to the theory that if we don't sell him he has to play, he hasn't done it on the pitch for us for a long while, and his performances at Ipswich make you think he just doesn't put it in for us when he has the opportunity to.
Short memory I think. He was head and shoulders above the rest when he played in September time. He got injured and came back around xmas/new year I think, and was mainly on the bench due to the good form of Ashbee and, wait for it, Harper. In this period he netted the winner at Sheff Utd. which was very enjoyable, and then was shipped out just before Ashbee left and Harper got ****e. It was the worst possible timing for him to go, as that was when we needed some creativity.
If it was me, I'd think £1m would be a good deal for us(relatively speaking), £1.5m wouldn't be disastrous and £2m would be the tipping point. It's not me though and I think Allam will play harder than I would on a point of principal(and it's his money), so even if he will entertain a settlement, I don't think he'll go over £1.5m. If he goes out on loan again, it will probably cost us at least £1m a season and it has to be better that he's gone as soon as possible, so he's completely out of the equation.
Radio Blunderside could not get QPR to confirm or deny reports but:- http://www.setanta.com/ie/Articles/2011/06/22/Rangers-close-on-loan-star/gnid-97987/? Fingers crossed.
You're absolutely right, he doesn't. He wants to be somewhere where he is wanted, we don't want him so he wants to leave, and yet despite this, he's still proven to be one of our best players when he has been used. How can that be criticised?
Well if it's a loan deal to a Premier League Club we need to be demanding full payment of wages, nothing less.
who said it was a rumour. Bullard needs a minder in Hull these days. lol. On Humberside sport today they said QPR want Bullard on a season long loan deal. Well if they pay his full wages then why not ? makes good sense alround to me. Frees up 2.5 million for NP to use elsewhere for starters. So far all i see is Hull City getting strongers and the rest much weaker. BUT ITS STILL EARLY DAYZ.
