Snodgrass tends to toss his toys out of the pram as soon as the going gets tough.. Luke Steele as number two to Scotlands Numero Uno Callum McManaman anyone?
personally believe we need 6signings. a cb to rotate with chester/davies (maybe 7 if we want rb cover thinking about it!!) caulker any 1? (maybe out of price range) a lb goes without saying really figgy has tailed off looks awful infact, but lets not forget he started very well!! a lb to push him and keep him on his toes, and dungeon/rosie able to play should cover lb slot. Olsson any 1? a cm not including Livermore who I hope will stay!! would like Livermore and another cm personally, not necessarily a starter week in week out, but to rotate in and out as need be. sidwell any 1? a winger or 2 to help strengthen the wings, no doubting on form brady is a quality winger, but lets not pin our hope on him!! lets not forget hes had a long lay off, may not come back at his best straight away. give lad time lets not make him into another Cameron stewart!!
Very interesting stat. Matty may not be the fastest striker out there but he knows how to put them away when given a chance. His goal against Man U. has probably moved him up that table. I like his movement off the ball too. Definitely needs to be given a new contract Steve. As for Caulker he's gotten worse as the season progressed. If he hadnt had Marshall in goal behind him Cardiff would have given up another 10-15 goals. No thanks!! (are you listening Woy/)
Him and Jelavic have superb movement for strikers. I also think his hold up play has improve. He appears a better player than he was a few years ago in my eyes. Deserves a new contract and although clearly not a 20-goal-a-season striker, I'd be happy to see what he can do with a run of games in the prem.
Roo has a thing about this that goes right back to L1. The amount of discussions we used to have about needing a 50 million goals a season striker or players only earning £3k a week not being enough to compete in L1. There was also a half hour highlights programme. Just for the record, this is the totals for the top 2 scorers at every other club in the PL this season after 37 games (league goals only). The players in brackets are other scorers on the overall top scorers table or just players tied with one of the 2 usd to make the figure, there's no other significance to their being mentioned. Liverpool (51) - Suarez 31, Sturridge 20 (Gerrard 13, Sterling 9) Man C (37) - Yaya Touré 20, Aguero 17 (Dzeko 16, Negredo 9) Man U (29) - Rooney 17, van Persie 12 (Wellbeck 9) Southampton (27) - Rodriguez 15, Lambert 12 (Lallana 9) Arsenal (25) - Giroud 16, Ramsey 9 Chelsea (23) - Hazard 14, Etoo 9 (Oscar 8) Everton (22) - Lukaku 14, Mirallas 8 Swansea (21) - Bony 15, Shelvey 6 Newcastle (20) - Remy 14, Gouffran 6 Tottenham (17) - Adebayor 10, Eriksen 7 Villa (15) - Benteke 10, Weimann 5, (Bacuna 5) Stoke (14) - Crouch 8, Adam 6 Sunderland (14) - Johnson 8, Borini 6 Cardiff (13) - Mutch 7, Campbell 6 West Ham (13) - Nolan 7, C.Cole 6 Fulham (12) - Sidwell 7, Dejagah 5 Norwich (12) - Hooper 6, Snodgrass 6 Palace (12) - Puncheon 7, Chamakh 5 (Gayle 5) WBA (9) - Berahino 5, Amalfitano 4 (Sessegnon 4)
Aluko isn't a team player though OLM.Several times when someones in a better position he doesn't pass but holds the ball and shoots himself or loses it. If he went I wouldn't be bothered. Plus he's injury prone
Errm, he's scored 2 goals in the Premier League from 9 appearances (his other 4 were in the FA Cup). If he is good enough for this league can you tell me another Premier League Club that has made an offer for him? He's a "Striker" and his job is to score goals and that is what he likes doing. As such he is not going to want to sit on his @rse on the bench coming on every now and then when he could be in a Championship side belting in 20-odd goals a season on a regular basis. Sure he'll get the odd goal but we need more than that and he has little or no pace and no first touch whatsoever which are prerequisites at this level.
I think you will need more than 5 to stay up. It will be interesting to see how Nigel manages a Premier League footballer. If we both attempt to sign the same player, there will only be one outcome, the player will sign for Bruce. Bruce could charm the birds from the trees, whereas flathead? ****, this isn't even a question worth discussing!
Assuming his body heals and he gets his head right. I'm not convinced and if he moved, at a reasonable price, I would like to get someone fresh working the left. Let's see what happens in the Cup, as we may get competitive games before August.
On his day, I would say Brady is our most direct player, more-so than Elmo, which over the past few months is something we have been desperately missing. A front 4 of; Elmo Aluko Brady Long Would give any Premier League defence a tough time.
No. of minutes played by Fryatt in these 9 appearances (not incl. injury time): 1 23 32 13 8 6 10 45 45 Total: 183 minutes. Just over 2 games, in other words.
Based on your perceptions via the media personae projected by the two managers in question of course.
Yes, I understand Tuck, but you are just confirming that here at Hull City he is just a 'bench player'. I think he is better than that but that is all he will be in the Premier League as his skills are limited. In the Championship he will be guaranteed 'first name on the sheet' and will get his fair share of goals. I wish the bloke well but I am sure that he would prefer to be playing 90 minutes each week and getting some goals regularly rather than 20 minutes a game and sat on his @rse for 70 minutes. Just my opinion Tuck.
Think SB recognises the bloke's got an eye for goal like no other at the club- as was confirmed by his goal at OT from outside the box.
So we need to get rid,and bring in someone not as good, someone who wouldn't mind sitting on the bench ?
Same positions apart from Striker, where we need an attacking mid. If we were both offering the same money I'd expect them to come here as we've already had a year where we have fairly comfortably survived, have a higher quality of players to play with in Huddlestone/Davies etc., have a more charismatic manager who is more likely to entice players in and then also the opportunity to play in Europe. I think we have an edge over most of the teams in a similar position to us i.e trying to avoid relegation and pushing for mid-table.
I'd like to try and stay British if possible. For me I'd like to see a centre back, left and right back, a creative midfielder to replace Koren and a tricky wide player.
