incidentally why do we have to go with any of the above? why doesnt DM step outside the box and go for someone completely different. I dont see the rush i would rather take our time with the appointment than rush it, it will be close season very soon and there are bound to be more options, Laudrup being another.. I am not keen on Malky in the slightest, hes no better in my eyes than CH and we will be back to square one IF (and thats a bloody big if) we can get promoted again. We have one season to still use the force of what we have built up over the last 3 years (premiership standards), keep as many of the players and team together inc a new experienced manager or we are going to see us slowly downgrading to a championship club again.
The thing is there's literally only 3 months before the start of the new campaign and that is really not very long, we need a permanant manager in place asap IMO. I would bet even money that DM already knows what he's going to do, whether that is giving it to Neeyul or not I don't know
Just voted..Colin for me but OK with Malky or Adams.I just think people are expecting us to punch above our weight.
Malky number #1 with Adams as his number #2. By suggesting they'd love Hooper back at Celtic, Lennon is inferring he doesn't want the job. Either way like other posters here have stated, a quick appointment is the likely outcome. Probably by mid-week. Expect to see Malky at the ground today too.
what makes you so sure we would NEED to sack him if promoted? he wasn't exactly given a shot by cardiff this season - they were never in the bottom three while he was in charge. he is unproven in the top flight. i think the important thing is getting promoted - not worrying about what we do if and when we get back there. i find that attitude rather arrogant. we are a championship club now (or at least we will be in a few hours) - we should apply ourselves as such and appoint the right man for our circumstances, not some hypothetical scenario
One of the problems I saw with Hughton was he's team, there was no one in there who you felt could work with the attacking players and bringing more out of them, developing the attacking tactics that always seemed to be lacking. Adams clearly has more ideas going forwards and Malky is a good manager who get the players working hard. I think that Malky as manager with Adams as the number two would be my current choice I Think they would balance each other out well.
Neither were we when Hughton was in charge .................................................................................... .............................................................coat
Well Darren Eadie's certainly not sitting on the fence with regard to Neil Adams ! http://talksport.com/football/exclusive-eadie-unsure-if-adams-right-man-norwich-14051190626? “With all due respect to Neil Adams, what it says to me is that we’ve become a small provincial club again. From trying to get away from that and employing Paul Lambert and then Chris Hughton, we’ve taken steps backwards.” Hmm ?
Respectfully disagree with you, we all want the best for our club but trying to hold onto what we have already at the club and have built over the last 3 years at least for one more season will give us the best chance at getting promoted. Nothing wrong with talking the talk this is how good leaders manage and get progress, DM does it all the time and you need to box above your weight to compete. I feel there is an air of defeat in your comment and just giving up and accepting we are little old championship club is the quickest way to see us back in Division 1 to continue the spiral downwards. Admittedly i probably havent accepted it yet and still find hard as this was so avoidable but i dont see a rush to appoint the next manager, its more important to get the right man than the quickest, i trust Mcnally to make the right decision either way as hes got a lot more right in his time with us than he has wrong
