I'd just like to say I'm pleased with quite a few things here: I like the continuity angle Bas referring to 'the Watford way' It happened quick and we can get prepared in what now is only a matter of weeks SDs little joke "I'll get my hat and coat then". All the Watford managers I have liked have had a sense of humour It has been done with dignity Yes it will be an interesting year and if we have fun, end up halfway up the table, and keep a few of our up and coming then I'll be happy enough Had we gone big time with promises of the prem and big signings I would have been very worried. So well done everyone
Going way back to the start of this thread so this may have already been covered, as I have not ready everything. Malky was very green and unproven when he was appointed as your caretaker manager 3 years ago and has done a decent job with little money. Every chance SD could follow in his footsteps. I have no real knowledge of his background and for an outsider it will be interesting to see how he does. Of course I wish Watford well, always been a 'nice' club. (Used to attend frequently in the early 80's in the Rookery )
Hmmm I said I was in sight of the Vic, perhaps I haven't eluded to quite how far away I am! I'll get a closer look and keep my ear to the ground though
With respect Roo - you talk a lot of garbage - you are one of the most rude posters on here - when you come on you often have a go at someone - you have interesting opinions which just about makes me bother to read your contributions - but why I should be a season ticket holder is a mystery - this is not about watching the games but supporting this site. I have to say that in our early days a few people who made the early journey to this site did everything we could to make the site "live" including lots of non football topics which we did not really want but kept the posts coming - and now we have what I believe to be the best site on not606. As for respected poster - whatever that means - who determines that? I am more than happy for you to run a poll on me as a mod - whether I am a respected poster or a good mod or whatever. I do my best - but don't pretend to be perfect - and would be completely happy to stand down with no ill feeling if a majority wanted it. I don't get paid for this and behind the scenes you will find most mods get some unpleasant people PMing them as unlike BBC mods you know who we are. Perhaps you would like to run a poll on being the Mod yourself You could gauge your own level of support
Ahh dont worry about him Leo, we all love you on here and most agree you do a sterling job as Mod and would not have it any other way!!!
Well thanks everyone for your support but to be honest as I've said elsewhere it is not exactly a demanding job but it gives me a good excuse to read as much as I can - but unless you all shut up a bit I will need that support I've asked for
I,like a few others would have liked to see Chris Hughton brought in but wasn't surprised when SD got the job,a cheap option. I would add though wasn't MM a cheap option when he got the job! lets give SD a fair crack of the whip..we may all be pleasantly surprised. Having said all that when I looked at our fixtures for next season my initial reaction was 'oh s*!t,with a start like that we could be in deep trouble from day one and by xmas well adrift of safety. With regards to Don Cowie I would hate to see him go,we've already lost Buckley where would our supply for whoever may be our strikers come from?,I'd love to see Weimann come back on loan, his work rate was second to none, with SD as manager we may be lucky as Weimann knows him well from last year. All I can add is COYH
