We have Oxley for that, he's had a cracking season at Oldham and I think he is well primed to be back up, provided he remains injury free, I know the coaching set up, particularly Walshy, is a big fan.

True, he's young, but he's already in their first team. We need players that are capable in a pinch and I think he would be, he's already made 30 appearances at a decent level. He's contracted until January 2016, so with 18 months left on his contract there'd be a bit of a fee involved, but we could loan him back to them for 6 months.

Slocombe has been there a while, he's done really well. If we were to bring in a back up goalie, I'd go for Wes Foderingham at Swindon but as I said above, I believe Oxley will be a part of the first team set up next season.

Thought Slocombe was a local lad?

Didn't he lose his place to Rachubka?

I think Oxley was recalled when McGregor got injured and Rachubka took his place. Rachubka did take his place, for a few games towards the end of his loan spell, but he did make 36 appearances.

I think that's why he was recalled, because he wasn't playing.

Oxley did get dropped before he was recalled, which is a bit of a concern.

Well he managed 2/3rds of a season before he was dropped, I wouldn't say it was a concern. After all, it was his first full season in football.

I thought he was recalled because of McGregor's injury?

I've seen Gauld and Souttar about twice this year and both look good, and i've heard good things from them. If they where moving though i am certain half the PL would want them as they are from Scotland they wouldn't be to expensive but if a big club comes in we are out of it straight away in my eyes. Europe will help but the money other clubs can offer will be far and above.

C'Mon mate, Matty Fryatt has had bugger all time on the pitch this season compared to our other strikers and is our highest goalscorer. He's proved that he's good enough for this league and given half a chance he could bag between 10 - 15 goals next season. He's only come off the bench this season and got 6. I would like to know how many minutes he has had on the pich compared to the other strikers

Good to see some banter on here; it's going to be a long week!

Neither Oxley or Foderingham for me, I think we should see what Jak's got in the bag as No. 2. Keep Harper as back-up.

LB & LW needed, entice bids for Brady.

We need a foot-in CM and a creative AM who can stand up and look up!

Another RW option would deal with it.

These are, for me, the first team requirements; but I think Bruce has it sussed - he's given out enough chances.

I would like to see Quinn get more minutes.

I like Matty, he's got good skill on ball and he knows how to finish, but he's got all the pace of a three legged tortoise and as a consequence, he'll never be a hig scoring Premier League player, you simply don't get the time on the ball that he needs.

He can still do a job though and I hope he sticks around.

Really? His injury means his current monetary value surely falls well short of his actual value to the squad (assuming fitness by July/August).

Matty is the same player he always has been, a proper purple-patch kid. His professionalism is impeccable, his game, when he finds it, is excellent. I'm pretty much ambivalent on him staying, but it would not disappoint me, so he has made me re-think from last season and I like him for that.

He is a player who can unsettle the p-shooters back four. Fingers crossed for him having his big day. <ok>

Saw that John Scouttar turned down a £600k move to Sunderland earlier this year (http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/...s/dundee-united-defender-john-souttar-2659566) reckon his price would have increased since then as he has gone on to prove himself, would we pay £750k to £1m for a non starter? I doubt it.

And as for Gauld he has been scouted by some of Europes top teams (Madrid, UTD, Everton, Liverpool) so even if we can agree a fee for him, surely he would have better options.
