Vettel seemed a lot happier with the car considering how limited his running was this weekend, Seb said 3rd was within the grasp with Ricciardo so he doesnt have to change anything in his style as the improvements in the power unit will do that regardless. I'll listen to what Horner and Helmut saying it was a precaution with the tyre deg in china compared to Ricciardo. So many people talking and contradicting themselves about this chassis changed that I just don't really care anymore.
Sebastian Vettel will drive for Red Bull at next week's Barcelona in-season test German to share driving duties with Sebastien Buemi By William Esler. Last Updated: 10/05/14 12:45pm Share: 0 0 Sky Bet 2014 Drivers' Championship Lewis Hamilton 1/4 Nico Rosberg 7/2 Sebastian Vettel 14/1 2014 Constructors' Championship Bet with Sky Bet Sebastian Vettel will remain in Spain following Sunday's Grand Prix to drive for Red Bull at next week's two day test at the Circuit de Catalunya which starts on Tuesday. The German will be at the wheel of the RB10 on Wednesday, taking over from Sebastien Buemi who will drive on the opening day of the test. Daniel Ricciardo, who drove on both days of the first in-season in Bahrain, will not take part in the running at Barcelona. Vettel has endured a difficult start to the 2014 season and missed out on valuable mileage during Friday Practice in Spain due to wiring loom problem. The test will be key for Red Bull as they seek to close the gap to the dominant Mercedes cars of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg with no further tests scheduled until after July's British Grand Prix. Barcelona in-season test - driver line-ups Red Bull - Tuesday: Sebastien Buemi; Wednesday: Sebastian Vettel. Mercedes - Tuesday: TBA; Wednesday: TBA. Ferrari - Tuesday: TBA; Wednesday: TBA. Looks like all his bad luck is coming at once. The three key ingredients to a title challenge are a good driver, a good car and good luck. 2/3 are missing so far this season.
Which is exactly why Helmut should have kept his trap shut over the whole affair. It's his bullshine that's brought about confusion.
I agree.... For the first time we are seeing another car beating Red Bulls in the twisty parts of any track. So we could conclude that Mercedes is not only fast engine wise, it has a great aero package. Everyone was wondering how they would stack up against Red Bull in Barcelona... Well we know now that this Mercedes is a car that will do well on any track.
Just watched the onboard of Hamiltons pole lap and it looks like the display on the steering was broken. I could see nothing on the screen and no sign of the gear change lights? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/27348137
Yeah looks like it to me! How much torque steer do these cars have - looks like they can be a real handful on certain sections of the track!

not really worth making such a conclusion, they have such a straight line speed advantage they can easily run more down force without caring if it increases drag. Red Bull are probably forced to do the opposite as well, as we saw when they tried testing a front wing with zero elements out of pure desperation.
Will the Mercedes duo get into a toggle in the first corner? That first corner will be crucial as there isn't much overtaking areas. Whoever gets into the first corner second will have to wait until the pitstop to try to get in front. I believe Alonso will get that third podium spot. I think he will do much better in the race. Massa was really quick off the line in last race but I think he was a little wild and dangerous.. And that cost him a better result. He needs to be quick off the line but he also needs to be sensible. I am happy for Grosjean, that was a really great job after all the problems lotus has been having since testing. I hope he does well. Kimi seems to be getting a handle on the car, hope he does better in the race. Maldonado.....hmmmmmm ... I think he should sit out the rest of the season and let the reserve driver take over... Somebody could get seriously injured if he keeps on like that. Seems like he isn't focused at all.
I think he will certainly try which could end up in a tangle.. At the same time Rosberg has to watch out for Ricciardo who is starting on the clean side. He wouldn't want Ricciardo to get in front so if he makes a mistake going after Hamilton then the red bull will be right up there.
It's a long straight so you would expect the guy behind to get the slipstream and get ahead going into turn 1.
The drivers press conference was hilarious when Nico said "I don't enjoy coming second to Lewis" and Lewis leaned over with a wry grin on his face and said "You've said that already" Rosberg will have a poor start like he did in China.
