What a day that was, finally got back to Sussex at 03:45 Journey up 6 hours Journey back 5.5 hours Sat nav prediction 4 hours. The M6 is a disaster. Enough said. Anyway, the game. I thought we played well, very solid and committed display. All players were fully committed. Only Ravel seemed off the pace, had an off day. Having been baffled all season by Harry's team selections, I decided, for the sake of teamQPR positivity, to not think about it too much and go with the flow. To be honest with hindsight I think he got it almost spot on. Wigan created very few opportunities as the home side. We were solid all over the pitch. All in all a job well done, but it's not over yet. We need to finish the job on Monday. Can't finish without some words on the support. It was superb last night, fully committed from beginning to the end. Wigan's support is frankly a disgrace for a club in League 1 let alone Championship or Premier league. If there is any justice we'll go through on Monday. But it'll be a tough game. Bring it on.
Excellent commitment Sussex, was waiting to hear from you and Judo. Agree with everything you said. Key word commitment, from fans to players to staff.
The journey sounds terrible, but we could hear you singing all match long, fantastic support. What would you change, if anything, for the home leg then?
Yep, agree. You won't hear from Judo for a while. After getting back at 03:45, he was off to coach Judo at 09:00 poor lad. But it's all in a good cause isn't it. Having sufferered poor displays for much of the season, it felt last night that the support put it to one side to get behind the team and management. We need this again on Monday to get through. Loftus Road should rock on Monday.
Fantastic support there last night, made me very proud. Green played well, but I thought the back four looked a little stiff at times, but I'm of the opinion that it was all part of the plan so I'm not to worried. Was a little surprised by Doyles introduction as I thought Bobbys rich vein of form could have paid dividends, Must be saving him as the secret weapon for the home 'leg'
Doyle looked v lively when he came on. He wins every header he goes for and holds the ball up well. A far better option than BZ last night
We heard you all singing Liked it when the commentator said that the place was buzzing and all you could hear was our supporters They tried showing some clapping Wigan fans...but it wasn't very impressive Much repect to you Judo and the rest of the travellers
He did look ok Wubba, just thought Bobbys recent goal fest may have had him higher up zee pecking order. 2 things we did learn yesterday. Ravel hates being subbed. Remy doesn't give a ****. Watched arsenal anyone see him last night? A loan player cared more than one of our 'own', so much for loanees don't care.
I'd be tempted to replace Dunne with Suk-Yun, moving hill to the middle. Dunne was ok but he did look like an accident waiting to happen. I might also replace traore with Benayoun on the right. Traore cannot play on the right.
Result good, us poor, them very poor. Traore on the right.............................. had to check several times to get it on his left and lost the impact. Not his fault, well done Harry!
I think the place was for him just to be a body on the wing and then do his stuff at set pieces, unfortunately we didn't get a single set piece after he came on.
Traore should have been switched to the left if we wanted to snatch a goal, but I don't think that was plan A. Only avenue of attack seemed to be DH, which speaks for its self.
Thanks for all the comments. It was a good night support wise, but must say that at 01:00 sat stationary on the M6 it didn't seem like a smart decision to go. I'm over it now though, we just need everyone to replicate it on Monday night
Sussex, I always said it.......you are a mad fecker!!!! By the way, any strange llads behind you last night whispering......."c'mon Wigan"? ;-)
Ha, Jackie's continually looking over her shoulder since that day. And you're right I think I'm off my head!!!!!
