If anything has leaked, it certainly wasn't from Liverpool.

I don't see why Lallana would want to move, Saints play good football and have some quality, young players. They're progressing well and have every chance of improving next season again. I get that he's ambitious, but another season with Saints will likely be worst case scenario for you if he really wants CL football because he seems loyal and will give every chance of Saints getting it first before looking elsewhere.

I also don't see Liverpool forking out anywhere near enough money for what you'd value him at. He's good, but you'd be asking for 20-30 which is crazy for an midfielder not at their peak or one of the best in Europe. English tax, no doubt.

Likely just his agent looking for a wage hike and Lallana want assurances that Saints will be progressing next season. Panic over

Very good post, thank you for showing some sense to some of the people on here! The other thing you didn't mention is that Bournemouth have a 25% sell-on clause on Adam's contract from when we cradle-snatched him. That is going to push his value to us even higher, so I just can't see any PL club forking out enough to satisfy our board. As you say, all these stories have a common cause, which is that people (players, and the manager) want reassurance that the club are continuing the project started 5 years ago. I can see no sign coming from the club that anything will change, quite the opposite in fact.

 

Lallana is in the whole head vs heart situation. We just have to persuade him to stay.

 

I wouldn't mind borini, doubt Liverpool will get rid of him though.

 

Why would a leak definitely not have come from Liverpool? Think you're putting your club on a pedestal there.

I made the mistake of buying the Sun. Apparently Adam is trying to "force through" a move to Liverpool. What a load of garbage.

 

Peach saying on Twitter some sublime to ridiculous reports are making fans tetchy.

Someone asked does he know what Cortese is up to, Peach has replied saying "leaking stuff about his former club by the looks of it".

I think that's nonsense. I mean to what end would he be doing this? I'm sure he's far better things to be getting on with, like world domination etc.

 

I don't think it's Cortese, I think it is a member of staff that left with him.

 

I've never liked the fact he associated himself with David Bick.

He's at the top of the game in PR but it seems like a lot of people have no respect for him.

He's very close with Sky Sports, the Mail and the red tops in the city.

 

I'm not sure whether I believe all this "Lallana is desperate to join Liverpool" stuff. He's had far better options to leave when we were in League 1 and didn't take it. He's progressed hugely and will go to the World Cup having played for Southampton. He is idolised here and get's a free role which he may not get at bigger clubs, including Liverpool. He hasn't that long ago signed a contract to keep him with us until 2018. For me I feel sure he'll be with us next season and the "sell on" clause of 25% doesn't make sense for us to sell unless it's for ridiculous money.

 

The desperate to play for Liverpool is ****. It's 50/50.

 

Meaning he'd be equally happy to go or stay, so why would we even consider letting him go?

 

As I said before it's his heart vs his head. Only he can decide what one wins
