Lovely lad, and I'm delighted for him. After what he went through from losing his father at such a young age, which nobody should have to, it is great to see. Nice to see his mum with him as well.
Great for him to have a decent contract so he can relax and concentrate on getting better and better. And he gets a watch! His first bit of silverware I expect we will get a lot of contract news from now on...they always like to spread out good news, rather than present them as a job lot.
what is he doing signing a contract before the plan is revealed? this makes no sense. Cork and Poch have sold him up the river. congratulations sam, i'm hopeful you'll make the grade.
Eterna must be rubbing their hands with glee at all the publicity they're going to get over the next few weeks. I wonder if Mauricio will get a new watch too? Nice going, Sam, and here's to a long and successful career at Saints.
What's the point....he will be linked with a move next season to a bigger club (aka any club but Southampton). If he isn't, we'll know he's rubbish. #embitteredandparanoid
Great to see. He can play all 11 positions when the rest of our squad is inevitably sold off to the highest bidder...
He can reward the club's confidence in him by scoring against Man U tomorrow. What a statement that would be.
All our lads sound the same in interviews...nicely spoken and pleasant. Must have been hard for him and his Mum in one way...they must have kept thinking how proud his Dad would have been. Bet he's looking forward to preseason as he wasn't one of those selected before to go. Luckily there will be some young 'uns there with him...may feel grown up at 18, but would feel out of it without company of his own age. He'd better be prepared for really tough sessions, because Mauricio wants the team to start next season raring to go. I know a couple of players remarked that it really helped that we started fitter than players in the other teams. Get those points on the board early is a good adage.
Was this the same Sam Gallagher that the Sun reliably informed us was signing for Arsenal? Or was it Chelsea? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...-target-southamptons-latest-wonderkid-3264687
Gallagher needs the chance to gain experience and improve...Chelsea must be the worse club to go to for that. He would just end up loaned out to a lower club than us. Was never true anyway.
