I'm sure others are aware of this but when on the phone at work, sales reps often call people love, sweetheart, darling, etc. Usually, this is to a member of the opposite sex. Same sex words tend to be pal, mate, fella, etc unless its female to female then the first set still count. I'm fine with this, often do it when talking to mates, even the "opposite sex" words occasionally to take the piss. However, what threw me of course the other day was a male sales rep calling me "love". I wasn't offended, it just took me by surprise
