So we've managed to reduce this down to a one match play-off. I'm sure that was Redknapp's plan regardless of whatever he said before the match. Will we play any differently on Monday night?
Have to say Wigan as the home side were pretty poor, I thought we'd have really been under the cosh. I have a feeling they will be far more dangerous at Loftus Road on the counter...
I am, we all suffered watching that for a good result and it was bad, let's face it, no one could have enjoyed that!
Excellent performance, was fearing the worst but we looked to have the more quality despite the possession. Morrison may not have done much but Krancjar is a liability in such a match, total lack of pace and agility and a very poor choice of sub. Doyle was ok all things considering. Onuoha MOM.
My verdict: We held them well but again some strange decisions were made. I thought the lineup was good except I have no idea why Yun wasn't played instead of Dunne. Dunne is clearly off form and knackered at this stage of the season. Why bring Doyle on? To hold the ball in the corner? Yun at right back would have livened things up. Traore on right wing?! ****ing madness. Every time he got the ball he refused to go out to the wing because the player himself knows he hasn't got a right foot. So why the hell is he there? Five defenders at the end. Why? Were we not shutting them out already? Or did Harry get a little nervous and do a little wee in his pants? I don't blame them so much for playing a defensive game but with a bit of tweaking to the lineup and with better substitutions, that same formation could have produced much better attacking chances. For me, our best player was O'Neill. He did his job perfectly. He always got the ball moving and was great off the ball. He applied the kind of pressure that Carroll and Barton don't know how to apply.
The question is CAN we play any differently? Hoillett really must see more of the ball if we're hoping to create more. I don't think Morrison should start based on tonight's performance.
We had 3,500 'men' of the match tonight, a great performance by the fans, the team need to match them...
Absolutely. It wasn't pretty but it's job done away from home, no red cards or injuries. It's in our own hands, just as I hoped for.
That will do. If we can't beat them at home we don't deserve to go through. We looked comfortable throughout. I feel Wembley beckoning.
Well I'm feeling a bit more relaxed about this now. Big respect to our supporters who made it, they did there bit!
In that time, Krancjar had more of the ball than Morrison. He also did more with it, in my opinion. I think you're seeing matters with emotion rather than seeing it as it is. You obviously don't like Krancjar already.
This is exactly my concern! And we both share that concern because we know what Harry is like. He's like Roy ****ing Hodgson. I think Wigan will be more up for it at Loftus Road but hopefully we will be, too. One thing I noticed in today's game is that it seemed like Wigan were more hungry to win the loose balls and air balls.
