Is it silly to think that Zola might come back? Would you welcome him if he did? After all he was not sacked--he resigned at a moment when he felt he could "do no more" with the group of players he had. Many seem to think he went too soon. With a different group of players his style, training methods and man-management might have a different impact--not to mention his profile in persuading players to come or stay (Deeney). In any case what we need with the new manager (inevitable) is a clear statement of intent to form a team capable of a top 6 challenge. That aim must be visible to all in the calibre of the person appointed. It will be the only way to keep Deeney, and the man must have the credibility and personality to weld the next bunch of draftees into a proper team.
Well GT was profoundly influenced by the work of Reep.... and the football was good to watch... http://www.wsc.co.uk/the-archive/918-Playing-the-game/2502-grim-reep- I would very much like for Z to still be with us..... cant see him coming back as it stands....
Worked at a higher level than Sannino but would still need time to adjust to the league. Again sounds like somebody who would want to bring his own players in rather than being given a load by Nani.
No to Zola coming back and no to Vydra coming back too whilst I am at it. Is capello out of work???? lol
Just been announced on 5-Live that Malky has dropped his case against Cardiff with an out of court settlement. So he now be a free agent.
tbh Leo, most of us don't! He is a legend in the former player stakes but as a manager he tends to set up not to lose which is very boring and just what turned everyone against Hughton!
OK - fair point - but I think he is one of the managers who understands the Championship and could get a side promoted from it - and of the others there are two or three I doubt most fans would want. Whilst it is perhaps not pleasant in this day and age managers are for Christmas not life - if Malky took a side up he could easily be ditched before Christmas the following year.
That's the problem Leo, as I say he has legend status as a former player, it would be awful to stain that with management failure!
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/watfordfc/watfordfcnews/11201552._/ BS planning on staying..... ??
hmmm Beppes cotract was 18 months , imo doesnt bode well , surgery needed now not in the winter transfer window. Good to see 4 lads have earnt pro contracts up on last years one!
But learning to swear and complain about match officials, whilst simultaneously learning how to give your own players the hairdryer treatment, is surely something he could master in a fortnight with the aid of Rosetta Stone software....
Yes - but he ought by now to be sufficiently fluent in training ground language - there will be a limited number of things he needs to say - not as if he is required to read Shakespeare
With Kilmarnock having just taken the lead against Hibs in their relegation play-off spot decider, it could well be that Terry Butcher will be on the lookout for a new job soon...
