It's part of a deal to sign Siem de Jong - He won't sign for us unless his brother is here. Just watch.

I thought there were some positive signs initially. However he just didn't seem to have any outstanding quality to make you want to sign him. I wouldn't judge him too harshly of course playing in that team of feeble warriors. He is painfully slow though. i could see him and his brother here, the better De Jong has long fancied a move to England by all accounts. Former teammate Anita is here, I'm sure he'll be telling him how great a club it is with a great manager...........

I wouldn't fancy it and certainly not for 8m. You could get much better from these shores for that sort of money.

If it was for a couple of million i'd say go for it. But you're right - not for 8.

The article in The Journal today, says that we are mulling over whether to make De Jong an offer and will meet with his representatives next week.
    Permanent deal only.
No mention of any One Year Loan Deal of £1m in the article.

" So it seems hard to justify signing this lad permanently, but maybe a one year loan deal is in the offing, and we suppose that would give the 23 year-old more time to prove himself.

But that loan fee should be no more than £1M. " Part of the script from NUFC Blog

Definitely does not have that in The Journal or anywhere else that I can find.
Maybe the site is putting its own spin on the story.

Cricketers, but I have to admit I looked them on up on Google. <laugh>
    Were they any good?

It was either spin or made up, the bit about De Jong loan deal.

I like him initially ..had some good touches , and linked play (or tried too he was rusty) but didnt see him improve as the season went on ..not playign for 6 months ..loaned to a team that couldn't be bothered/ low confidence/ Pardewed for the next 6, not really that fair on him. That all said, 8 mill is daft money for what he has shown ..see him as a upgraded Shola atm

    £8m is way OTT.
As a body... £1m for another season on loan may benefit all parties.
If it were him or Shola...
