At least the test-chassis is performing as it did in testing........... RBR finding consistency at last!
Didn't notice if Ham and Ros had different panels on the car, seems odd for it to happen to one after limited slowish running.
Interesting session. Merc clearly still ahead of the game. Ferrari and Ricciardo still nearest challengers? Unfortunate problem for Vettel would have hoped to see him get some laps in.
Button did seem happy in discussion with Ron during FP1 and I'm sure I saw a lip read next to the car that went like... RD:"is it good?", JB:"yeah it's good", so we should keep a bit of an eye on McLaren this weekend if that's their true potential.
If it makes F1 fans like yourself happy then that's fine , I just think having cars with lower revs and a turbo which will rob the exhaust of its energy resulting in lower Db's should just be excepted as that is the reality of the 2014 cars. I just feel by adding this gimmick which has no positive results on the cars performance is unnecessary as F1 is going down a different path. BTW sorry about my post regards me saying that the Megaphone exhaust would run in practice, this was the case but was changed. vhttp://www.crash.net/f1/news/204149/1/sound-decision-as-f1-prepares-to-run-megaphone-exhaust.html
The more he has failures, the more I actually have sympathy for him, and would like to see him get out there and mix it.
Hardly any testing... Australia: Software failure on Saturday and Sunday. Malaysia: Software glitches on Saturday. Bahrain: Wastegate failure on Saturday. DRS and MGU-K problems during the race. China: Probably the only clear weekend he had, apart from a fuel flow problem on Saturday. Spain: Complete electrical failure for 2 practice sessions. I bet Seb wishes he could just have a clear weekend for a change!
