Theoretically there is some sense in it. It actually looks like Graham Carr/NUFC started to make waves in France around the same time as Sports Direct started to really attack the French market. France is THE boom country for Ashley's brand - removing a flat, English dimwit from his role and appointing a young, forward thinking Frenchman hits a sweet spot.

It's also path of least resistance. Does Ashley want to try and replace Ben Arfa as well as Cabaye? Does he want to try and find another Debuchy? He'll know what he's facing and the language from the players does not scream that they want to stay. As our best are more or less French, would bringing in not just a new bloke but also a French, former International, go some way to appeasing them? I'd argue very much so.

Final point - not only would he be free, but he would see NUFC as a MASSIVE step up from a league with only two teams in it and his budget at St. Etienne would be fcking paltry. Proper selling club as well, having had to flog PEA last year - almost to us. So he has an experience of the "ambition" that the fans don't see - maybe as far as he's concerned, we attempted to go toe-to-toe with Borussia Dortmund. That must carry some appeal to the manager.

I really like having a bit of hope and I'll pile the lot on this.

Disagree with DMW in terms of L'Equipe rumour-mongering - mischief has typically come directly from the mouths of managers (Courbois) or chairmen.

Well, if he is used to his best players being sold without a replacement being found, he's heading in the right direction <ok>

The L'Equipe article reckon he's under contract until 2016, so not sure where its coming from that there would be no compent.

Forgive me if I'm not overly enthusiastic at the thought of NUFC turning even more towards France.

Galtier's credential in France seem ok, but as to whether he'd make a success of it in England is another matter.
Although he was at Portsmouth with Perrin, before they all got the push quickly out the door.

I don't want the first head to pop out of a Sports Direct bag in France to be the Next Manager, I would like some thought to go into it and that we get the right Manager not just any Tom, Dick or Harry.

The only good thing I see from this, is that there may be movement in looking for Pardews replacement.

You should all feel ashamed for making the man sad, give him a chance to redeem himself , at least one more season

I'd like to make him even sadder - Preferably by dropping him head first off the Tyne Bridge

No truth in this for me. If Pardew goes there is a manager who,

knows the premier league like the back of his hand.
Can sign players of the highest quality.
    Is available.
    Knows our current players.
Has an understanding of our club.....
Has just recently lost a high profile job.
    Has a point to prove....

Yes you guessed it....... JOE KINNEAR!

I see that loathesome fckwit has been flapping his gums again.

Why is it almost every time Pardew speaks he has to remind us of past glories? "I hope we can find solution to give us a season like we had two years ago". He can't just say "better season" or "aim for that elusive top 6" or anything progressive. He just lives in a fcking bubble. What he fails to realise is that he inadvertantly highlights that we've been such sh!t for two seasons running.

Man alive, I fcking hate him. I'm not getting involved with NUFC until he goes.

I would normally cringe at the thought, but he cannot become manager as he has had two heart attacks. He wouldn't be passed fit by a Premier League medical panel and has been told that previously.

Not strictly true. We had a cracking first half of the season and at the end of the day have achieved the goal set by the owner and indeed desired by most of the supporters. It would be fair to say we have been **** for 1 and a half of the last two seasons. Saying otherwise just makes you nearly as a big a liar as him. Sort of.
