He seems quite sexy. I say we get him in.

 

He'd be a hit with the ladies. Hell, even the mackem lasses would want a piece [although they go with anything].

 

I would pick him over the likes of Moyes, Bruce, Pulis... I'm not getting my hopes up but my fingers are crossed.

 

I don't know - just read that his contract is up at the end of this season so we wouldn't have to pay St Etienne any compensation. That sounds like just the sort of move you could expect of Mike.

 

I would love nothing more than to see either of the following on Sunday 11th May at approximately 7pm.

'Alan Pardew has been sacked as Manager of Newcastle United'
'Alan Pardew has left Newcastle United by Mutual Consent'
'Alan Pardew has resigned as Manager of Newcastle United'

I wont be saddled with another season of shocking football, if Pardew stays, I go!

This one seems to be random enough to have some grain of truth to it. I reckon he'd be a decent choice to be honest, seen as what he's managed to do with ASSE. They're a club quite similar to ours, a 'sleeping giant' if you will, who had their heyday in the 70's and dominated domestic and European football (okay, the won trophies... lots of 'em, so maybe not so similar to us then ).

I remember them having their own relegation issues and only came back up to Ligue 1 about 9 years ago, I think. I would argue they've consistently punched above their weight in recent seasons, especially now that big money clubs like Monaco and PSG are certain to dominate the domestic scene for the foreseeable future. ASSE have ended up 4th this year, which for them is a pretty good achievement considering their players and the foregone conclusion of PSG and Monaco topping the table. If their manager is responsible for that, then that would speak volumes about his abilities and I'd happily have him replace Pardew.

Only a rumour at the end of the day though. Hope it has legs...

I'm afraid I don't have the same faith in L'Equipe. They have been responsible for loads of bullshit stories regarding us since our french invasion. They had Cabaye having completed a Monaco medical at one point - despite not having left England! Same as all the rest. the only difference being they do get quite a few interviews and direct quote with the french lads playing abroad.

Who knows. Never heard of this guy so it would be unwise to criticise or get carried away. I don't believe in an "anyone will do" approach though, its mind numbingly stupid. We need to appoint the right man.

I don't believe Mike will want to lose Pards personally so I reckon he'll end up staying. I honestly think jabba cares that little about what fans want.
