Also the little matter of 25% sell on fee to Bournemouth .....just don't think Liverpool would pay the amount required to turn our heads.

 

I would suggest we adopt the same approach with Liverpool and Adam, as Liverpool did with Suarez

I wish I was Southampton Chairman right now then I wouldn't be worried at all. All I would have to do was create 1 email:

OUR PLAYERS ARE NOT FOR SALE YOU ****ING TWATS. I would never get tired of sending that to Liverpool, Chelsea and Man United.

 

I'd let them keep sending them, then take great delight in shredding each and every one.

Do it serial killer style with cuttings from newspaper articles about Lallana.

 

We could always try putting a Lallana mask on Hooiveld and send him up to Liverpool.

Exactly, even if he does have his head turned, he still loves this club and wouldn't be disruptive if we denied him a big move. So why would we ever sell him?

 

It might be that before he was only getting offers from midtable teams, while now he realises that every club in the league would want him and he could play regular first team football in the Champions League.

 

In the end the only concrete sources are randomers from twitter, and Sky's Alex 'boring' Crooks.

Well, they have. Then there was constant talk of ambition and top 4. Now the future, although clearly very solid, does not quite show the same clear, ruthless ambition that Cortese made a trademark. It's uncertainty, and Adam is, quite frankly, of that age where he might be starting to peak, and he has to want his best years of playing to be winning titles and whooping ass around the grandest stages in Europe.

We really shouldn't understate the other side of losing Cortese. He constantly preached ambition and progress. People stick to that, and when the leadership is now a little more: "Well, slow down now lets see how this goes." It's a big ****ing change.

Now given all this, I do see potential for him to move, maybe this summer. However I'd like to think he'd be sensible enough to give Lex Luger and Co. a chance to show their intended level of investment and commitment first, by moving late-on in the window or even in January.

We shouldn't be accepting bids any time immediately, but to be honest, if he had given it some time for the board to show something, and he'd expressed a desire to leave, I'd want to make something happen for him. You can't argue he should be denied it.

 

Good for him if he decides to stay and good for you if you tell us all to **** off, haha! A stronger Southampton is better for us, means you can take more points off our rivals !

 

How much was Andy Carroll again?

If we're using the Carroll Scale for pricing then he's around 500m.

 

The first thing Kreuger said when he arrived was: 'Why is my office attached to a giant shredder?' Well he knows now.

 

Not being negative, but anyone who keeps saying that no-one will go in the summer are probably the same people saying we will get CL in the next couple of seasons. Not saying Luke & Adam definitely will go, but people need to open their eyes that it's definitely a possibility. And more of a probability.

It's a possibility sure. I don't know how you can say it's probable though - virtually all the evidence we have points to them staying, anything else is purely speculation.
