Can any-one recall the last Pompey game he missed?

Can you recall a game you went to at which he was absent?

I heard somewhere that in 30 odd years he has only missed 3 or 4 games - due to family illness or the birth of his kids......

.......but that could all be rubbish!

He got nicked at Chelsea once (I think) almost 20 years ago now, for being totally drunk (a fair cop) and received a lengthy ban from all football grounds. It became a game after that, at away matches, playing "spot the Westwood" one could often see him hunched down in a seat in the main stand, with his old brown leather jacket and a flat cap on. But I think even through all that, he still made it, most of the time. He was far less famous in those days, of course.

At the Ricoh last season, he turned up 15 minutes late, left his seat 5 minutes before half time to go for a *** and a pint and then came back 15 minutes late from that too! He missed half the game!..............

..............although to be fair to him, that wasnt the best day out!

My point exactly Ducky - Yes, he may be "passionate" in the public eye - but in the grand scheme of things, he cant be that bothered to then miss half the game smoking and drinking!

I just dont understand it - its like going to see a film at the cinema and walking in half way through - makes no sense to me!

About as passionate as the many thousands of Saints "fans" who walked out 15/20 minutes early, at the F A Cup match at St Scarys Stadium, when we gave your lot a good thrashing, eh Your Lordship ?

I don't think too many walked out at that time when the score was 1-1 <doh>

Mike, it just goes to prove that a lot of our "sashy" friends, are still leaving their schools in the rough part of Hampshire, without the ability to read and write :emoticon-0103-cool:

I had to get a small dig in somewhere! Reading between the lines seldom gives you the full amount of information!

You are spot on Mikey, why he is held up as some kind of loyal passionate fan, when he seems to put drinking before watching his team is beyond me. The pubs are now open all day and right through till the early hours, if he can't get go 45 mins without a drink then there's something wrong. He maybe a loyal and passionate supporter of camra, but not football..........

If i pay £25 - £40 to go to an away ground for my ticket alone, not including the travel, food, couple of beers etc - I want to see the 90 minutes of football I have paid for! Ok, there have been times when we have all felt like walking out because of a bad performance etc, but you just don't. You sit there and watch your team, no matter how badly they are doing! Thats what being a football fan is all about - its not all good and the heartache is part and parcel.

You said that he turns up late, surely that's even worse than walking out because it's crap. Perhaps he knows how bad it'll be, or maybe the beer is so good he can't drag himself away, either way it's not would I'd call loyal.

I was using the "walking out early" as a general point against some football fans in general (honestly not a dig at a certain FA Cup win for PFC last year as it happens all over the country!)

JPFCW turns up late, at Coventry last year, as I have said, 15 minutes late for kick off - he was on the concourse 20 minutes later drinking and smoking, then missed the start of the second half and then left 10 minutes early too! Amazed me that he did that - at most home games, he will turn up 5 or 10 minutes later than kick off too!

He might look loyal - but his behaviour certainly makes me think again!
