    ... here's why...

(if you don't want to read a self-indulgent ramble by someone who's probably got "issues" then don't bother with this. You'll never get the 3-10* minutes back. Oh, and life's too short.

Very well put -there has been nothing to get excited about all season. Ever hopeful, though, I'm beginning to get excited about the prospect of a special night on Monday and another Wembley outing.

Mmm.............I agree with many of the sentiments, especially those concerning Harry.
However, I do feel TIME needs to get out more, or get laid or something. I can imagine him sitting in his seat, quietly applauding an Austin winner tomorrow night.
Excited? You bet your life I am. Everything else, Harry, the style of football etc can wait until after we know our fate.

    Come on URRRRRRrrrssssssss!!

Good piece TIME.....it's the sum of all the parts....

A day out at Wembley would be great.....if we happen to win, fantastic....if we lose, ah well another year in the championship wouldn't be the worse thing after all where's the fun in striving to be the 17th best team in the country?

Good effort there TIME - was feeling quite despondant about tomorrow night, but a few beers watching tonights game (of which I don't think we have too much to fear from either side) and reading your blog has me fired up for the next few days! I'm relishing the chance that we've been given - I think we all thought ten months ago that our team were miles away from getting close to regaining PL status, so play-offs is a real bonus - enjoy it while you can, cos life's too short to not enjoy every little bright light that comes along, now matter how annoying the glimmer is!

    C'mon U Rrrrrrrrrr's

    Nice post Steelmonkey.

TIME, I think you have summed up how most of us have felt for the last few seasons in your excellent blog post. I would just like to add that having the lack of one of our own to cheer is also a contributory factor.

Really good thread here and back all those years ago in Cardiff was a very bad day - I think someone mentioned this in an earlier comment but not on this thread ?
We walked through the town to get the bus back to our car on some site out of town, with families and young kids in prams swearing at us - telling us where to go (and they had won !)
God I'm so glad Cardiff went down this year .............

To be fair we have never had the most vociferous crowd at LR particularly when things are not going too well but it has been noticeable how quiet things have been this season (contrast and compare to our last promotion season). Here's a few possible factors to consider:

    • We have only scored early on in a very few games. The LR crowd needs motivation most of the time (playing the scum being the main exception).
    • We have an ever increasing percentage of foreign visitors most of whom are not true supporters but are just looking to see some English football while in London.
    • We feel the pressure! We understand that over the last few years the club has been going through a pivotal point in its history and thus far has pissed the opportunity away.
    • Last and not least, the football has truly been dire. It's a truly loyal fan who can get exercised by yet another backwards pass.

Anyone want to risk ordering these?

Those are all valid points but it will be different come then playoffs, the crowd will up their game but will the players?

Its why we desperately need a man in charge playing positive football, the crowd will then change back to the Warnock and even the Hughes days.

    Sorry mate, i dont agree
TIME, i never comment on your stuff as i dont read it anymore. i dont necc share your views and find it more respectful that way. I acknowledge you opinions but i had to read this just because of the title.

Now, we are 3 games awy from the Premiership. 3 games from worldwide recognition and people in bars, pubs & clubs around the world cheering and commenting on us as they did when Adel scored v Arsenal, mackie v Liverpool, Joey at Citeh.
Worldwide recognition and miilions of GBP....?

Seeing Rangers shirts in Australia, indonesia, Asia, America in all the major sports shops. Pictures of our club worldwide and the availability of our games being shown across the planet for EVERYBODY on earth to be able to see who we are.....

FFS..How can you not be excited about that?...What more exactly would it take to excite you. Our players will be recognised at the biggest sporting event on the planet later this year....The World Cup.
Commentators will say, "this is Joey Barton..Captin of English premiership team Queens Park Rangers" <laugh> ...well you get the drift.!

Id respectfully suggest that if this doesnt excite you, then the problem lies a bit closer to home. Not with Harry and co ?

Very good article and comments about Harry could not be closer to the bone.
Funny how even those of us who have stood by him, can see it.

Anyway, let's finish the season on a positive note and win ................... even more so if we get to play Derby.

Nice one TIME, I think you've summed up a lot of people's feelings there, and as beautifully written as always.

I've had this sense of detachment from this team for a long time. The upside is their fate is of less urgent interest to me than if I really identified with a few more of the players and the way we try to play, if we don't make it through the lottery of play offs it won't be a crushing disappointment to me, more a case of 'well, did we deserve to go up'?

Odd thing is I think we will make it through, and I am looking forward to Monday - a rare occasion, meeting some of the people from here before the kick off, yelling into Roller's ear for the duration of the game.

    Extra time and penalties anyone?
