So much for leading the race

Kasper Schmeichel- "Of course I want to stay. We've got to the Premier League and I'm happy here, but it's not up to me."

Also why would Cresswell probably choose you? We have a manager who is well known for bringing in young players and developing them. I dont even know if you manager can speak English. Great manager nonetheless

But going for Cresswell if it was between us and you then I see no favourite

And Southampton aren't knowing for developing young players?

Sorry Proud, but if it was a straight up choice between first choice at Southampton, or first choice here, he would clearly choose Southampton.

Southampton are known for bringing through players and blending them with experience.

IMO Luke Shaw would be stupid to leave Southampton now. He is too young and just needs games

As for people like Lallana IMO he is a very very good player but wont make that major step up. Southampton is probably the best club for him to be at

I agree on Luke Shaw, think he would be stupid to leave, he will develop incredibly if he stays there for another 2 seasons imo. and then tries to make a step up.

As for Lallana, I think he could improve almost any first team in the prem barring Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal. very underrated and a fantastic player.

Lallana is very good. But IMO with the progress Southampton have made over the last 18 months with him playing a major role he should remain. IMO he wont get enough of a look in at a top 4 chasing club other then probably Everton. So out of the rest Southampton is probably the best one for him

Personally I could see both Shaw AND Lallana at Man United this summer ... and currently Southampton would have the edge on us for attracting players if the money is equitable ... particularly for young English players as they now have a proven track record at being looked at by the England boss in terms of the England squad ...

This <ok> He'd go Southampton all day long, thought this all will depend on if Shaw wants to stay.

Pearson likes to get his business done early, if Pearsons after Cresswell and Cresswell says he is "looking to keep his options open", then Pearson won't sign him anyway, hes already stated that he only wants players here who want to play for the club and wont enter bidding wars for anyone.

That is the key issue now we're in the Premier League. It's down to whomever flashes the cash. Southampton and Leicester will be part of the same league-within-a-league in the Prem - more likely to go down than make Europe. If both clubs go for the same target, it will come down to money (95%) and geography (5%).

That said, I think Pearson will, on the whole, avoid known players and go for keen young talent eager to test themselves in England's top flight. I think he's already said himself chances are we've never heard of any of his targets.

Lallana would be wasted. Other then Ross Barkley he is the best English talent at the moment. He is too good to go to a big team and be a rotation player. And let's be honest at good as he is would Man U have been looking at a player like him 5-10 years ago? IMO no. While he would add something to the current midfield there I don think he is quite in the class of players Man U SHOULD be signing. They haven't signed a world class midfielder in a very very long time

Luke Shaw will make the top teams one day he just needs to be patient and just keep doing what he is doing at Southampton. If he goes now it could see him waste his potential

After this season's fiasco, I think United will be forced to spend very big this summer. Can't see them taking chance on players unproven at the very highest level (Champion's League class).

United under Ferguson always built their side around a core of British talent ... for the likes of Gary Neville and Michael Carrick I could easily see Shaw and Lallana - particularly if they acquit themselves well at the World Cup ... only time will tell.

Have you developed a premier league attitude already proud ? If it was a straight up choice between you and one of the best footballing sides I have seen this season you wouldn't stand a chance infact I would go as far as to say he wouldn't even enter negoiations with you , that's not putting Leicester down it's just Southampton are miles ahead of you in terms of a club that looks like they could make the next step and look a long way off from battling relegation

Southampton as a club are pretty much on par with us

As a team they are we we want to be in 2-3 years time. So in that sense they are ahead of us but that doesn't mean a lot to some players when it comes to choosing who to sign for

You lot was telling us last year Prem football would lure Kasper to Hull and look how that turned out. If Cresswell is only interest in money then Nigel won't be interested in him as he has already stated about potential transfer targets. IMO simaliar to Southampton (albeit not as good) we have a very good young left back developing in Jeff Schlupp so do we need to break the bank to sign a new left back? Fergie wanted to sign Jeff Schlupp 18 months ago so Jeff has the potential like Luke Shaw to go a very long way. We still have Konchesky aswell so left back is not a priority

I think a player would be attracted more to the current levels of the team and their potential to be in the top 7-10 as opposed to how they are doing off the field. So I agree with Fettis Southampton would be streets ahead of us. (IMO of course lol)

Do you honestly believe had a bid been accepted that kasper would of knocked us back ?? It worked out pretty well for both teams in the end we got a very good keeper for a fraction of the price it would of taken to get kasper . Do you lot think he will sign a new deal or jump ship ?
