Suarez was voted POTY by both his fellow professionals and by football journalists. That's the end of the argument as far as I'm concerned.
Close call for me ££££ would still play well without Yaya and get top 3, Liverpool without Rat man would mean 7th place at best.
I read somewhere that the criteria/considerations for voting (for the writers award) include fair play, sportsmanship, integrity and leadership, on that basis alone it's a disgrace Suarez has won this award....
Liverpool have the best player in the league. It isnt fair, Chelsea should have all the best players please log in to view this image Top of the league in March and the easiest fixtures and spent the most, again and with Jose in charge and it all summed up to a potless season #bottledit please log in to view this image
Has Suarez shown leadership. GerrArd is meant to do that moreso I guess. But hasn't. Ya ya has. 22 goals from midfield too, often starting deep
I was focussing more on the fair play/integrity elements. Tremendous talent that he is it's still laughable watching him throw himself on the floor every week, he's not alone far from it, but when you win an award where your ability to demonstrate 'sportsmanship' is a key criteria you are thrust into the spotlight more than others....
Bale won both awards last year, did you have the same opinion of him as someone throwing himself on the floor, or if he's a Brit its ok?
We were top of the league during his absence. We probably would have won the league if we had sold him to Arsenal! John Henry was sitting by his phone for the £40,000,002 bid to come in... but Arsenal were a £1 short... the cheap batards!
I had a similar view of Bale albeit to a less extent. Being a Brit is of no relevance, what is relevant is the player and his adherence to the set criteria as laid out by the organisers.
"to a less extent" If your morals against players not sticking to the rules are genuine your criticism should be equally dished out.
Bale loved to throw himself on the floor, but I never saw him rolling around in agony then 3 seconds later sprinting down the pitch, in my opinion this makes Suarez worse of the two. Suarez is far from the only culprit as I've previously said, it's now the majority that behave in this way rather than the minority, but Suarez has been 'high profile' for a couple of years now for various reasons but he does little to alter the views of those who may have judged him on past indiscretions.
