The latest names in the hat are Sporting's Leonardo Jardim, a young Portuguese coach who's also being considered by Monaco, and Rafa. The former should annoy a lot of people, for obvious reasons. The latter seems remarkably unlikely, as he's finishing in a CL place with Napoli and just won the Coppa Italia. We're being used by agents to help with contract negotiations via the media, in my opinion. Jardim was sacked by Olympiakos in January 2013 after barely six months at the club. They hadn't lost a domestic game in any competition (W:17, D:3), were 10 points clear at the top of the league and had beaten Arsenal in the CL group stage, narrowly missing out on qualifying. Harsh.

I think he might be a little bristly, as he had a run in with Braga's president when he was their manager and quit after one season. They finished 3rd and he broke their record for consecutive wins, chalking up 15 on the bounce. Hard to tell what his style of play is like, but his sides seem to score plenty of goals. The same is true of Villas-Boas though, in the main.
I can't believe Levy would be crazy enough to hire another Portugese. I mean, someone like Laudrup would probably not be a good choice, but would be greeted with a lot less hostility and is probably available.

Whether you like Sherwood or not, the way its all been handled from start to finish has been pretty crap Players telling him he's going at the end of the season before he's even been told is shocking really, he was doomed from the start
The moment he was unveiled as manager it was obvious Levy was repeating what happened in 2003-4, where we had Pleat fill in for half the season after Hoddle was sacked as there was an international tournament coming up that meant on one hand there were managers who wouldn't commit as they were eyeing up an international job, on the other there were coaches who were busy with final preparations for the international tournament so wouldn't take the job.
Sherwood more than most knew what he was letting himself in for. He has enough first hand experience of the way Levy and Co. do business, so I have limited sympathy when it all goes Pete Tong for him. His (ill advised) public protestations were never going to cement his position as a permanent manager. The only surprise is that he was ever given an 18 month contract........ Bizarre!!
I would imagine it was Sherwood who demanded the 18th month contract so he could get a pay off, good on him, everybody would've done the same. Regardng his public protests its only what everybody else was saying. People have said that he shouldn't be saying stuff like that because he's the manager but its ok for us to boo the team off when they play crap?. Its the fans job to motivate the players as well as the manager, look at the response the Stoke players got the other week when they went down to 10 men, that would never happen at white hart lane
It was bizarre that Spurs agreed to it..... For shrewd financial managers, that made little sense. Making comments as a club official is a world away from being a fan, although I have to say it is his technical decisions and choices rather than his mouthing off that has caused me most concern and doubt his ability in the role.
I don't know who, or where the root of this problem lies - I suspect with the ultimate hierarchy. But nonetheless, it has created this sense in the playing staff that there is no stability, no sense of direction, etc. if the board think that all of their staff are just morons with no other aim other than how much money they can earn, I fear they have seriously misjudged the situation. A demotivated squad is the kiss of death. Assuming that everybody who dons a pair of football boots for a living is no more than an uneducated yob, who just happens to have a talent for kicking a football around, is downright idiotic itself.

It's worrying for several reasons... Sherwood in the space of just a few months has clearly polarised the dressing room and pushed out one of our best players. Sandro knows he won't play tomorrow so has said what others clearly want to say... This will just breed a negative culture within the dressing room where other players will become unsettled and look elsewhere over the summer. Verts for sure. Lloris another possibility. Even Eriksen and no doubt Paulinho. Sherwood's shambolic man management has caused this to occur but who should really take the blame for our club going backwards with a dressing room in turmoil? The Teflon Boy. Levy is instrumental in hiring and firing decision making and Sherwood's appointment is making us into a laughing stock. It's time for root and branch changes with real leadership. If you truly care about our club Levy, you know it's time to go!

I would be prepared to give Sherwood another season if it wasn't for his treatment of Sandro, I feel that strongly about it. A sackable offence in my book. Sorry, couldn't disagree more. I neither think he wants to leave nor has acted in any way like Modric or Bale. It reads like he is being flattering to his home club - the interview is in Brazil - what else would he say? I also disagree about how valuable he is. No Modric or Bale, but better and more valuable than Vertonghen and less easy to replace than Lloris.
