Do I feel sorry for Liverpool for blowing the tittle? no not one bit & they must feel how we felt when they pipped us back in 75/76 in the last game of season, so cry all you want.

Good point, but I still want them to win it for the 96. Not football related - emotion related.

Agreed ................ Stevie G will lament this one for the rest of his life, OR make up for it next year.

You make a valid point, sir. Seems like only yesterday, so to speak.

Stevie, Glen and the rest of the England internationals can rechannel their disappointment into the World Cup campaign to assuage their pain.

Personally I think the Liverpool haters are unduly harsh, of the clubs around them they are the only ones who cannot be accused of buying the title. They have a young manager, a core of English players and I for one would have liked Gerrard to win it as reward for his unwavering loyalty over the years when he could easily have taken the riches ( and titles) and played elsewhere.

    Fair enough
.75/76 season was the year of my birth so have no recollection of that . It is fair to say though there has been a wave of anti Liverpool feeling revelling in their misfortune, im just saying i had hoped they would do it for the reasons ive already mentioned :)

I'm not being unduly harsh at all. I have my reasons for not liking Liverpool that go back years, and the reasons you state for wanting them to win are certainly no reason for me to change minds suddenly....so no, not harsh at all. By the way Liverpool are the 3rd biggest spenders over the last 10 years so yes they have TRIED to buy the league. They've also had multiple managers of all types of ages and nationalities in that time, not sure why having a young manager is even a reason why any team should have success over another.

I'm not trying to change anyones mind Gloucester, its just my opinion. You may well be right about Liverpools expenditure over the last 10 years but does this not suggest that they have "built" a team as oppose to City and Chelsea who have just spent mega money in a relatively short space of time in order to wipe out any realistic competition?
In regard to the manager I guess I just find it refreshing to see a younger British guy doing well in the PL instead of the usual older foreign suspects coming in to coach the big names. It is also refreshing to see so many English faces in a successful side when there are some of the big boys who put out a team with barely an English face in it, surely this can only be a good thing for the national side?
Also on a sentimental front it would have been quite fitting for the scousers to have done it this year on the 25th anniversary of Hillsborough but it seems now that this will not happen and tbey may never get the chance again as all the big guns will splash yet more millions to boost there chances of domination.
Again like I said not looking to change opinions, just voicing my own<ok>
