The graph looks impressive but that's just because of the choice of scale on the ordinate axis. Looks a bit like a graph from an advertisement.
You don't have to be a genius to comprehend that the circulation and readership of national newspapers is in terminal decline. Now the Fail never did have one of the highest conversion rates of circulation to readership so the income streams are drying up whilst they desperately seek to reduce costs. The truth is that no matter what they say, fewer and fewer people are listening.
I think what CCC was pointing out was that- if you look at graph and not read the axis- it looks like the Fail is in a precipitous decline and lost almost all their readership. When in fact they've actually only lost 12.5% of their readership. (a little more than 4.2mill down from 4.8mill). That's a lot smaller decline over those several years than I would have expected. By changing the max/min on axis- you can make graphical data look a lot better/worse than it really is- such as how ads manipulate data. Certainly, printed media is in decline, and will continue to decline... the fail amongst them. Unfortunately they'll continue to put out rubbish online instead.
I know what CCC was saying. I can read charts adequately (when I've got me glasses on ). They may publish on-line even after their print demise but they will be scrapping with a better prepared competition.
Both us and City on 99 goals. Be nice to win this game (and therefor definitely get 100 goals) and try finish top scorers as well. City still need some sort of result so still huge pressure on them (imagine if they actually lost!)
City on 100 goals and we're on 99. High scoring season. Must be one of the most entertaining seasons, for non-Man U fans, ever. When have we seen two teams pushing for a century of goals, and had dramas at both ends of the table, with both the title and relegation battles lasting to the penultimate, or ultimate, day of the season? Compelling.
Last match thread of the season. Lets enjoy this no made what happens. It's been a season that none of us expected.
hope so luv, be infested by silly wum comments though no doubt, hopefully the Geordies will join in the match thread and we can have a laugh.
I hope we score at least 5 and beat the chavs record. Hopefully Suarez gets a couple to hold the 38 game record too.
at least the title will be going to one of the teams who played entertaining football, shame Arsenal couldn't get a striker in the jan window and who knows could have been a very interesting 3 horse race then between 3 teams who like to play attractive football.
Yea you can't complain really when City have scored 1 more goal than us AND been tighter at the back. In the end the best team wins the league
At the start of the season how many pundits said City would win the league? How many said Liverpool would come 2nd/3rd? How many said Man Utd would sack their manager after 10 months and finish 7th? #greatseason
As if we needed it, this season has proved many things. But one lesson that our supporters should learn is: PUNDITS ARE STUPID - no matter where they come from!!! At the start of this season nobody would give us the time of day. Our squad lacked quality they said. Our squad was too small they said. The squads at City, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Spurs were well ahead of us they said. We did not have the finance to compete they said. Well apart from City, all of that has been proved WRONG. The task for FSG and BR is to take the lessons and experiences of this year and move the club further on. But remember about the pundits. They are already saying that this was our only opportunity to win a title and that next year will be harder. so one of our objectives is to ensure that we ram those predictions back down their throats.
This. They bore me to death. After 8 games, EIGHT GAMES - they were saying 'Palace just need to prepare for the championship next year to have every chance of coming up again the year after' ****ing ludicrous
