Actually, I can feel the annoyance building inside me yet again over successive England managers' inability to see the obvious. They cried... wish we had skillful players like the French, Italians, Portugese and Spanish, and then they totally ignored the most skillful player in the country.

 

The Sun did a stunt where they have the Brazilian team a copy of the Unbelievable video (do you remember?) - they couldn't believe he wasn't the first name on the team sheet.

 

I know Pele said if he was Brazilian he'd get into the national side of the time.

 

All this talk has provoked me to Google. How about this article on MLT and his absence from the England team, from Jim White, then of The Independent. Never seen it before, myself:

No actual rumour anywhere as far as I have seen, but what do people think of Borini? I've been really impressed with him during the 2nd half of the season.

I imagine though that Sunderland would be keen to make a permanent move for him now, or that Liverpool may want him back to bolster their squad with all the extra games they have next season.

 

Yeah I think they'll have him back now. He's done really well.

 

He has. I remember watching him in his first season at Swansea and thinking he was an excellent player, but then he just didn't kick on at Liverpool. It will be interesting to see what he does next season if he returns to Liverpool.

 

I think Liverpool may sell him as they need to strengthen in other areas.

 

They're going to be in the champions league, they need depth in all areas, and will have lots of money to buy new players. I don't see them selling to fund purchases really.

 

Would rather Bony, wouldnt mind taking a punt on Victor Moses

 

Glad I'm not the only one who still seethes. After watching that brilliant video again it's strange that I can feel excited and angry at the same time.

 

I've mentioned Moses several times before. I think he is young enough still to be taught our way and I'd guess he'd not be too expensive.

No, I guess I don't blame you either. I've been trying to shed my anger over the gross injustice to MLT, but it'll never go away. I thought I'd cracked it, but back it came within seconds of responding to your post. I should have erased my opening line.

BTW, what is all this BBC rubbish about Yaya Toure being only the 2nd midfielder to score 20 of more goals in a PL season [Lampard being the other one]..? Are they erasing Matty from the record books because he played more than 38 games..?

I notice also that he often gets overlooked as being the first midfielder [suddenly, he's a striker] who scored 100 goals in the PL. Last time I saw the error, it was once again the Beeb who made it.
