15. We will finish the season with the biggest gap ahead of The Skates EVER!!.......: SEVENTY THREE PLACES!!....
I was just pointing out that 8th and limping out of the Cup can't be considered a better season than 8th and nearly winning the thing.
It was more a general comment that people on here seem to believe MP made some catastrophic, cardinal sin, rather than just.....y'know.....a mistake.
And he could have won with that team...it wasn't the u9s. We lost a match. We could have lost with our full team...these things happen. I loved the Strachan season and the FA Cup final where we knew we would be in Europe regardless, but that was one season. We've had 5 great years now.
I'm still upset with Rickie Lambert for deliberately missing that open goal just because he didn't want the fans to go to Wembley and win trophies. Should be sent to prison for match fixing.
The other reason we have had our best PL season ever is, of course, our points total, which now exceeds our previous best in a 38 game season.
Reasons to be cheerful? I've just been approached by a Swiss newspaper to co-write a piece on Southampton for them, discussing our future under Krueger and Liebherr.
I am always cheerful because in the order of what is truly important in my life the success of SFC comes in at around 97.
One reason to be cheerful not yet mentioned, is the existence of not606 Southampton, without it we would have to go elsewhere to complain about things.
