Fair enough and you may be right. I think you would be giving them stick as normal. Its normal. You would take tge piss just like everton fans are now. Thats what rivals do. Sure you might like the sentiment of them winning if you dont but you relish the banter if they let it slip.

I dont care what anyone says, you would still love it hence why I cant see how your struggling with the fact everton fans are loving you missing your best chance in years. Im sure they would be happy if you had won it if only for city pride.

You assume the only blues I have any contact are on here.<laugh>

I drink with the ****s, and there's a blues in work, the Manchester derby and the relationship between the two manc clubs and their fans shouldn't be the basis of your thoughts on the way it is here.

From my point of view as a red Manc if we can`t win the title my choice goes: last Liverpoll, second last City after that i am not really bothered who wins it. Therason for this should be obvious, rivalry. You are our biggest rivals and City are our local rivals for bragging rights, nobody else really counts.

Our two clubs are intrinsically bound by ties that are based on not only football but by solidarity through adversity.

Can't abide United, but honestly, Chavski come pretty damn close for me. I despise everything about that club; playboy owner who pumps in billions at a loss to buy success without care, pumped up player contracts/fees, awful football, manager who's an arrogant tool and fans who believe they're the best club in the world with their plastic flags who seem to forget that they were nothing before they were a rich man's toy. I can at least respect United's climb to the top and their manager (well, the one before the previous one!).

This. Just add, for a time the rivalry with Arsenal was a bit special but more like a thorn in the side than anything else. There's no doubt I used to relish the United Arsenal fixtures as much as the Liverpool.

That makes sense but doesn't it change now that it's beyond any possible doubt that you are Manchester's second team?

When Everton finished above us people called us the second team but it was obviously just a WUM, especially the seaosn we actually won a trophy.

6 places though... not even close.

    Chelsea are vile

Man Utd have their fair share of scum but with the clearout that's coming and the possibility of them playing young players who haven't given us reason to hate them yet they might actually be quite likeable next season <yikes>

Or they might go back to playing Young

And the re-routing of trade routes from Merseyside to the Manchester canals. That along with United's success at the turn of the century....just think it could quite easily have been Man City if they'd won anything back then, but they were too busy in the second division!

Nope, dosen`t change one bit. As some of you have pointed out with Everton, City are the other Manchester club so if it comes down to you or them to win the league, it has to be them.

Edit. Or as i hinted in my first post, anyone but you lot

Gotta laugh at the thread on the Chav board about their preseason plans and about it being better they're not in the BIG tournament in the USA this summer.

Its obviously hurting that they're not a big enough club to get the invite.<whistle>

Agreed, it could have been City (or Everton from Scouseland). It was the success of the two clubs over the years that built up a healthy dislike/rivalry/grudging admiration between the clubs.

    Turn of the century?

We won the league title in 1900 and Utd 7 years later.

If some of our players weren't coerced into a match fixing scandal at Utd your club would never have survived mate, we helped save Utd from extinction that day.<yikes>

I think its fair to say there is a lot of respect between our clubs but respect doesnt mean we like you. Not at all.

Ah don't start that rubbish <laugh> No mate, I mean the rivalry could have been between Liverpool and City instead. You won the league 1900 and just before that? and us a few years after that a couple of times. That and more importantly trade politics between the two cities were how the rivalry developed.
