You're clearly the type of fan that sees Rhodes (pen) pop up on Soccer Saturday and thinks he's some sort of genius. Don't know how many penalties he's scored but i'm willing to bet that they're very close on goals from open play. Rhodes' game is all about scoring, he's a poacher. Vardy on the other hand has so many other qualities. Vardy has had a better season and that's not something i'd have said this time last year.
I'm pretty sure I remember you and him were also big fans of Cairney, I'm pleased to see him doing well this season, it's just disappointing he never really got a proper run in the team here after we'd got relegated because I always thought that there was a really good player in him if we brought it out properly.
Rhodes scored 25 this season, 4 of them were penalties, so even if you remove them, he still scored five more than Vardy. As for Cairney, he played for us eighty times, I think we're in a far better position to judge his ability. I think he'll end up back in the Premier League, you can add it to my Liam Cooper will end up in the Championship prediction.
He's at the right level now, simply not good enough for The Prem in my view. We are slow enough as it is at times without Tom slowing it down further!
It's okay saying we should of kept him, but he couldn't get a game last year. Alex Bruce was even picked a head. He'd of ended up in same position as last year and stagnated even more. The lad had potential and but needed games.
For me, Tom always needed to take a step back to go forwards. It happens all the time so there's really no need to be wetting our knickers about it. Good luck to him. And here's a simple question - would you have Old Tom vs New Tom in the starting XI? Cos there is no way in the world both would ever play in the same team. For me New Tom wins every single time and I actually think he's been a little bit disappointing this season. Just a little mind.
I think there will be many a time we play a midfield trio and he s better than Meyler. There are also going to be a whopping great big ****load of games for him to play in. Hindsight eh...
I don't think he's better than Meyler. In fact, I don't understand why everyone's so obsessed with replacing Meyler. He's been one of our best players this season. Midfielders who can tackle, pass, head and score goals don't grow on trees.
There's no hindsight about it. The question of whether Tom C is better than Meyler is a completely moot point cos they're not like-for-like and wouldnt be swapped one for the other. It's not a case of is Tom C better than Meyler, it's a case of is Tom C better than Tom H? Tom C and Tom H would not play successfully in the same team - FACT. The only way it would be worthwhile having Tom C here is if Tom H a) gets injured, b) massively loses form or c) is sold. Or to play in the league cup games perhaps and when Tom H fancies a rest but lets face it, he doesnt run much.
