To be honest I cannot see it happening for us. Having won at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge, not forgetting the draw at the Etihad, home to the baggies is an easy win, like we should have done. That was where we ultimately lost it although not beating Cardiff in either game (or Fulham) all resulted in our relegation. Bring on next season!

Judging by our game against them on sunday, West Brom are in total holiday mode

Sounds familiar - count back one year to when we played them and secured our Premier League status for another season <whistle>

Begs the question, why did Arsenal make such a meal of the game? Hope you can do the same on Sunday and let us believe we have got some pride back <ok>

Baggies were my 1st team before I left Midlands 40+ yrs ago

It would be ironic if they did us a big favour, but I cannot see it.

They were certainly on the beach 12 months ago when we
    played them at Carrow Rd.

    Fingers and everything else crossed

You know what'll happen, don't you?
West Brom will scrape a win tonight, then at the weekend we'll manage to go ahead with about 10mins to go against Arsenal, whilst Sunderland are losing to Swansea. Then, in injury time, Sunderland will scramble a dodgy own goal to equalise, sending us down.

More likely though, they'll absolutely batter Brom tonight and we we'll save our fingernails for next season.

This actually happened in my dream (nightmare) last night.

I'm not even joking, almost word for word.

    Bizarre.

I really don't want that. It would be the worst way to get relegated. I'd rather Sunderland got on and got a point tonight than be relegated in the 93rd minute like Doncaster.

It's probably worth them paying for it.

Makes you wonder how Sunderland achieved away wins at OT and SB...

Ironically something similar happened in 1981. We had to draw at home against Leicester and Sunderland had to lose at Anfield for us to stay up. Leicester went 2-0 up through two goals by Jim Melrose - we pulled it back to 2-2 which meant that if Sunderland lost we would stay up. I was in the Barclay that day and news came through (by radio - no internet in those days) that Liverpool had taken the lead - the Barclay went nuts and we all thought we were staying up. Then Melrose scored again and we lost 3-2 - we were all absolutely devastated.

The news came through at the final whistle that Sunderland had beaten Liverpool 1-0 (not the other way round) and so our result never mattered anyway - that was one hell of an afternoon I can tell you - a right emotional roller coaster.

Should the Baggies do us a favour tonight I can see Sunday becoming another nerve jangler !

Was that the last season that Bobby Robson was with you before he took the England job?
