I never thought much about it at the time, but looking back it's surprising how many cars there were about. Like I said, very few people in our street had one.

 

I saw a woman on the news who rented her drive out for ppl commuting on the train, she was making over £ 500 a month!

 

I had a 2.2 Diana rifle back in the day.

 

You'd have to rent out yer Ma to earn that sort of dosh around there mate.

I had a catapult.

 

As kids we used to earn some dosh minding* cars on match day.

* this meant not keying them if their owners paid you.

 

There was a feller with expert knowledge in electricity matters in my mates street off Princess Drive when we were kids, he had a cable from the lampost outside his house giving his family free Lecky.

 

I've got a couple of mates who've let people use their drives a couple of times on Utting Ave on matchday

 

Wonder if kids around the two grounds still do car minding, very lucrative business I'd guess for kids.
