Maybe this could go in the Nest but it could get lost there and others may too have questions they would like opinions on Does anyone know of a decent make of wellington boots that actually stay waterproof for more than 5 minutes. Hunters used to be good when they were manufactured in Scotland but they are now rubbish - I have looked at Le Chameau, Bogs and Muck Boots but do not have any recommendations that people I know have tried. I walk miles with the dog every day and go through a stream a lot and anyway Wales is .... just wet. Thinking that perhaps Norway might know some decent ones as I think he too does a lot of dog walking
I bought a couple of pairs of cheap Dunlop ones which I have used for years and they are still waterproof, but although they are good for wandering around the fields I would not consider them for a route march.
Try these Leo. I got a lot of my sea fishing clothing from there http://www.gonefishinguk.co.uk/boot...l?SQLStoreID=64701918a236df4e547f2e62d310ec08 You could also try these. I have used them in the past and have had no complaints http://www.yarmo.co.uk/acatalog/Dickies_Footwear.html
So that is Wellington boots. I use Meindl boots nearly all the time. Frú Ak does not like them in the house.
Looked at some of these thanks Ak - but need wellingtons as I go through some fairly deep streams on the walks
I have Dunlops for the 20minute routemarch to the train station in the snow... done a grand job for quite a few years but, no, not ideal for "walking the dog" or a day's work on the farm.
Oh i don't know - I found wellies to be extremely useful footwear in the Outback where sometimes it hadn't rained for years. In the absence of cash for a pair of expensive 'proper' boots, they offer really good protection from snakes and other nasties like meat ants and scorpions - even if your feet and legs tend to sweat a bit more.
Don't worry - I already have foot and mouth BB I would be worried in the outback about what crawled into the boots overnight

This seems as good a place as any to ask - I'm off to a gig at Shepherds Bush Empire in a couple of weeks time. Can any of you fine people recommend a reasonable pub in the vicinity please? I haven't been there for a fair while so am a bit out of step with what may still be there and what isn't etc.! Thanks.
Dan - Unfortunately The Outback is closed, that used to the best pub for the Empire. There is a pub on the corner as you walk up from the Empire towards Steptoe's Yard, it's called The Green (of something like that) that is OK, but draft Perroni is £5.15 a pint! Alternative is a Spoons that is a short walk down The Bush towards Shepards Bush Overground station - It's on the 1st floor of some kind of shopping/leisure centre - about a 10 min walk.
