SAFC fan in peace - Not conclusive only comes into play when you're a Man CIty or top brass player - look at Toure's kick at Van Wolfswinkel (sp?) - he kicked him, the ref didn;t see it, he got no ban - red card offence. I have only seen a picture so can't comment on how it looks in real time but the photo probably makes it look a lot worse than it is as it looks like he's stamped on him.
Looks bad to me this one - why is he "stamping" there - similar to Dossena for us against you - if the ref saw it he's a lucky boy - if not then I think he's ****ed
The more I see it, the more I think that it's a really bad challenge. He leaves his foot there, presses it down, then when he's satisfied he goes. It's disgraceful really.
I think it was initially an accident, but then he deliberately leaves his foot there too long and applies a little more pressure. In other words, he's going to be in trouble.
https://vine.co/v/M6gvBjYiYaF My view, he starts off going for the ball (watch the eyes) as he puts his foot down, the other player swings a leg and knocks the ball away. Landing on the leg is then unavoidable, but he does look as though rather than lift off, he made the most of the opportunity.
from this video it appears that Meyler makes the move deliberately , leaves his foot on Januzajs leg - it looks all deliberate the only saving grace is that Januzaj doesnt react until Meyler moves his own foot - so that may help him prove that altho his foot was on him , there was no weight there i suspect pics of his injury will piss on that tho .
Well the injury obviously wasn't inflicted there as it goes all the way from his knee to his ankle and Meyler only trod on one bit of him. Januzaj is clearly being a playacting little turd and it's quite depressing to see our own fans turn on our own player to side with a notorious cheat.
He's clearly going for the ball, he can't get his foot off Janzajs leg as it is moving towards him, come on think about it. It's the least deliberate case to answer I have seen.
if that was Barton you would have him electrocuted with a 12" dildo ! I alluded to Januzaj not reacting to the stamp till afterwards , but it doesnt stop what Meyler appears to do .
Anyone who believes that's a stamp wants their bumps feeling. A stamp is where the leg is deliberately raised and forcefully brought down. Meyler's put his foot towards the ball and in a split second the ball is replaced by the cheating little scrote's leg, and because Meyler (as good as he is) can't warp the laws of Physics he ends up ACCIDENTALLY standing on his leg. Have a look at Meyler's eyes, they're on the ball all the time. If he meant malice he'd have looked at the man as well. Seriously, some people.
ur being pedantic this is just word play - we know what a headbutt is but all these pushes we see are described as a headbutt too - its the intent and lack of control that is the real concern. On the video (and i cant pretend to know whats going on in his head) Meyler makes a second movement when moving his foot away , it seems rather an simply lifting off his foot , he pushes off with his foot , we have seen that sneaky sort of thing many times and we always call for blood !
If we appealed a ban, would that make him available for the final with the extended ban being the Euro's or next season? (You can read my 'faith' in the system from the question).
No - the charging and appeals process is faster than that. And domestic bans are separate from Euro ones.
Aye, I thought I was being optimistic. Riether at Fulham got three matches for a more obvious stamp on the same player but Torres got nothing for his on Vertonghen.
Yup Meyler overstretched to get his foot to the ball The little manure ****e was too quick for him and kicked the ball away. So we have Meyler stretching, his weight is on the heal of his front foot so you can't just take it away. Meyler's foot lays across the manure ****es shin pad for a second until Meyler can adjust his balance then he runs off up the pitch. There is no way that hurt the manure player so Giggs can f**k off and shag his sister in law and stop whining If it was a manure player then nothing would be said about it
That was just down to a bullshit technicality, though. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/oct/01/fernando-torres-ban-jan-vertonghen
Calm down ladies, if it was as bad and awful as some of you are making it out to be, that cheating turd woulda required a medivac via helicopter. As it was, barely any reaction by his standards. Some of your reactions are akin to the cheating turds over dramatisation of the slightest thing too. Ref seemed to talk to Meyler about it too, so it was dealt with. Meyler was my MOM for that little bit of afters.
