He is just minimizing the loss of caulker that will surly happen.. Cardiff must offload their high earners and quick as the financial loss from relegation is huge when you have only had one season. The extra seating will turn out to be a costly white elephant now and to be fair he was advised that its far to early to start thinking about extending the stadium on the assumption that you will be in the premiership for a few years at least. Relegation has cost tan or cardiff millions and will be a massive burden in the future. Trying to run before he can walk springs to mind and it's back fired big time.

Dai - you don't half talk some twaddle on times...........in fact, most of the time.......<laugh>

You like to think you are the font of knowledge regarding CCFC and it's finances etc etc etc, whereas you know **** all except for generalisations.

I've known you for a long time on the forums, and I tend to take you in the best spirit of this football chat game, but I can understand why others on here think you're a plank.

Do us all a favour and stop preaching your repetitive mantra for a while. <ok>

Pray tell us Dai, who told him? and when did they tell him this? were you there to confirm this actually happened.

Relegation costs anyone millions if they drop from the PL, not just Cardiff.
Tan can stand the loss if he decides to do so, lots of if's in this pot.

Getting back to the topic, I agree with NB to a point. I don't think we would miss Caulker, I haven't been that impressed with him all season. He has scored a few goals, but his defensive errors and lack of leadership has cost us more. If Liverpool or Southampton come in with a good offer we should take it.

Medal would be missed, but could be easily replaced, there are plenty of other mid-fielders out there, but we would seriously miss Marshal if he went. He has been one of the best goalkeepers City have ever had, and we would have conceded far more without him.

Been saying for a while here and some seem to agree that I can't understand others gushing over Caulker when he's been an integral part of such a sorry defence all season.

Oh please, Short of Marshall Caulker has been your best player. (thats viewed from afar of course). You wouldnt be making that comment if he was to stay Do you really believe you will better without him, I dont think so. You will need to keep as many of your best players if you want to come straight back up. It will be difficult enough with out losing your only quality players.

cardiff can no longer afford to keep the high earners. Tan wont stand for major losses however the cardiff fans think he will. He has lost millions already and he wont chuck good money after bad. He is not the type, He took a gamble and he lost but it will be the football club who will take the brunt of the losses, that you can bet on.

Back on topic... Caulker is going to just three places and even then one is way out there.

    Spurs (most likely)
    Liverpool (quite likely)
Swansea (only if the other two don't bid)

I think the Swans would meet your purchase price, even if I said Cardiff had to sell yesterday. He is worth £8M.

honestly i don't think you'd get caulker in a million years, but i do agree you'll need a new team when the spanish contingent decide to hop it with mr.monk in charge

With Chico likely gone this summer you don't think he'd be interested in rekindling his partnership with Williams, providing Spurs don't utlilise their right of first refusal (was that agreed?) or Rodgers doesn't come in for him?

Caulker only signed for Cardiff knowing you'd get relegated so that we could then buy him on the cheap ;)
