Yeh hes not managed in club football for a while and sure hes been sacked a few times but hes a bloody good coach and manager. You guys were linked with him not so long ago. Was it ever more than just speculation?

Whatever happens hes very set in his ways and very much someone who likes full control. If he keeps Giggs on then he might end up falling out with him down the line but he will pass alot of useful stuff on to both Giggs and the players.

 

He sure did. He also won titles at both clubs, reached the champions league final and a few other bits and bobs along the way.

Gotta laugh at the desperate and deluded mancs, they ripped us for our support and song "we're gonna win the league" over the last few weeks yet last night a kid got lucky against Hull's reserves and they were singing "Wilson for England" and today the comments columns of many sites are full of "give him a place on the plane to Brazil".

Also beachball head saying Januzaj is the best young player in Europe.

I know its not 'rival' but Swansea have just appointed Monk as their full time manager on a three year deal. Seems like a very brave choice, he has done okay in the time since he has taken over but he is still very inexperienced.

he knows the club and is passionate so in that way it makes sense.

trouble is with the managers they have become used to ie Rodgers and Laudrup and the style of play, is he going to try and change things ie palace used to try and play football before pullis went there, like he done at stoke and now Stoke are doing the opposite and trying to play, too much tinkering with styles may **** them up, who knows.

i havent taken much notice of monk to be honest, so not sure how he has done and the style of play he uses, but they had become an attractive club, is he going to take them backwards when maybe a better name would have been wiser.

Is it bad that I kind of thing he's right? :/. From a PERFORMANCE point of view a training camp does actually seem a lot more sensible after a big season and world cup than jet setting around the states. But training camps don't rake in commercial revenues.

 

Sounds a bit like the thread on here for your short lived record breaking kit deal with some random US brand nobody had heard of.....

We also played on a tuesday night. Theres not a club in the land who doesnt have a half empty ground towards the end of midweek games. People have lives, jobs, homes to get too.

An 18 year old scoring 2 on his debut is pretty big in football as is the appointment of a top class manager.
