Damn I wish I could go to this game, I've got a ****ey French exam the morning after... Was at Old Trafford on Saturday and the atmosphere and support was outstanding.

Hope everyone who's going has a great night and roars the lads on for 90 minutes, the atmosphere v Cardiff was electric and you could tell it transmitted to the players.

Let's get 3 points and send those Canaries down!

Unchanged team again. Just get us over the line now lads. Hoping for a carnival atmosphere Sunday rather than nervous

We'll be setting off around 2pm tomorrow and it's getting exciting already.

A sell out crowd under floodlights, the team bang on form and a great welcome onto the pitch after Old Trafford.

We can now go above both West Brom and Hull if we manage to win <ok>

Hull have to play Everton at the weekend so could easily finish 4th bottom.

Poyet: Maintain the intensity
Published: 06 May, 2014
by Stuart Vose
"We’ve done something extraordinary; now we need to make sure we finish it."
Gus Poyet will set his side up in search of the three points they need to secure top-flight survival when West Brom visit Wearside on Wednesday night (KO 7.45pm).
A draw would put the Black Cats three points ahead of 18th-placed Norwich with a game to play and a superior goal difference – but a victory would mathematically settle the issue on the night.
And that’s the aim for Poyet, whose side have pieced together a remarkable revival to take 10 points from their last four games.
The idea is not to play or start the game with a draw in our heads – not at all. We will go for the win first
- Gus Poyet
“We will be playing to win,” he said. “As we always say, the result is a consequence of the performance.
“The idea is not to play or start the game with a draw in our heads – not at all. We will go for the win first.”
Wednesday evening’s visitors all but secured their Barclays Premier League status after Norwich drew 0-0 at Chelsea over the weekend.
But Poyet is wary of the pressure being somewhat taken off the Baggies, and says his side must continue to meet the standards they’ve set.
“It’s going to be a game where maybe West Brom are relaxed for the first time a while, but you never know if that’s a good or bad thing.
“Sometimes when teams relax they play better, or the opposite.
“We need to maintain the intensity, concentration and fighting spirit because we need points.
“We’re looking forward to the game; we’re ready, nothing has changed. We’re much better [off] than Friday and two weeks ago, so the idea is to continue with that.
“We’ve done something extraordinary; now we need to make sure we finish it.”

JOHN O’Shea says it would be “special” if Sunderland could guarantee their Premier League status tonight in front of a near full house Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats’ captain has been thrilled by the way his side has rescued a survival cause which seemed all but lost just a few short weeks ago.

And he now he says he would love to complete the rescue mission this evening with a result over West Brom which would avoid Sunderland facing any pressure in the last day of the season game against Swansea City this Sunday.

In the wake of Sunderland’s first victory at the home of his former club Manchester United in 46 years at the weekend, he told the Echo: “It has been a fantastic achievement the way the manager and the lads have turned things around these last few weeks.

“But now we want to finish the job and we want to finish it in style.

“The performances at Man City, Chelsea and Man United and the big win over Cardiff City changed everything and put us in a great position.

“It would have been nice if Chelsea could have done us a favour at Norwich City on Sunday and got the result which would have confirmed we were staying up.

“But we have never really thought about the need to rely on others when we went on this good run - we’ve wanted to get out of it under our own steam, we’ve just want to keep on winning as many games as possible.

“And it would be even more special, I guess, if we were able to accomplish it by ourselves, in front of a massive home crowd tonight.

“There’s going to be well over 40,000 of our supporters at the Stadium of Light and it would be great if they could celebrate properly, together.”

The 33-year-old spent more than a decade of his career at Old Trafford before signing a four-year contract with Sunderland in 2011.

Last year, he was made captain of the club and despite his long association with Man United, has developed a real sense of pride and belonging to Sunderland which he says is shared by his team-mates.

He said: “We wouldn’t have been able to do what we’ve done if we all weren’t desperate for this club to stay in the Premier League.

“We’re proud to be playing for Sunderland Football Club and we know how much it means to the fans, to the city, to the people who work at the club for it to be in the top flight.

“No-one wants to see Sunderland go through what comes with relegation and we were determined to give absolutely everything to make sure it didn’t happen.

“We’re so close, but now we’ve got the chance to finish the job, and we intend to do just that.”

Exactly what we said when the whistle went at Stamford Bridge.

Yes we're all desperate to see us safe but it'll be so much better for 40+ thousand Sunderland people to be together to witness it.

After all we've suffered it'll be a massive relief if we finish the job tonight ....... and a big '**** off' to the Mags who prayed we'd go down <ok>

How we've managed to get to this point probably won't sink in until we see the fixtures for next season, can't wait me like.
