I'd like to see us get rid of:-

Goalkeepers:
All - except for Lloris

Defenders:
All

Fullbacks:
All

Midfield:
All - except for Erikson

Strikers (no, don't laugh):
All

I'd like to see us bring in:-

Goalkeepers:
Joe Hart, as back up for Lloris

£ity's Defence

The best mix of Chelsea's and Arsenal's Midfield

'Pool's Strike force

Yeah, I think that ought to make us competitive.

Oh yeah, I scrolled past the template :D

HBIC, where did you hear that about Ade's contract?

The deal was that City would subsidise his wages for two years

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...ham-transfers-emmanuel-adebayors-move-1250923

As those two years are up this summer, either we're going to be paying him his full wages - which could possibly cause a domino effect with several other players demanding a pay raise in response.

"But with the player refusing to accept a big pay-cut, City were forced to accept having to continue to pay the player the difference between his earnings with them and his new wage of around £80,000 in order to complete the deal."

It was so Adebayor didn't lose money on his valuable City contract by leaving them early because they were trying to force him out. He had 2 years left on his contract, hence why City will stop paying him this year. I'm 99% sure his wages won't be going up to £170k like they were before.

The deal wasn't as reported, apparently. We're paying all of his wages now, though I don't think he's on the same money.

what is wrong with you lot, lol!

Yep, half the players have been absolute turnip the whole season but if there is ONE thing we can learn from last summer its that we are not the sort of team that can rebuild in, well, a year let alone a summer.

Some of the players are not good enough, cough*fullback*cough. But we should be keeping anyone that has played a significant number of games this season, sell the players on the periphery and sign players to integrate into the side in place of the players not deemed good enough.

For once we must keep all our best players, that includes Lloris, Vertonghen (no matter how much of a tart he has been) and Eriksen. Sell or loan out the sheet in our weakest areas and replace with proven PL players if possible, 4 or 5 additions in key areas should be plenty to improve the squad.

There again, it is possible a new manager may get the best out of and improve certain players and turn the likes of Rose into Maldini, Dawson into Baresi and Naughton into Cafu lol

Naughton's been Kaka under three managers already!

Reports in the media are claiming that Lewis Holtby's future will be decided this week.
Shouldn't we wait til we've actually got one of those, er... you know, what are they called? Oh yeah, a ****ing manager! <grr>

Anyone else hoping that Sherwood gave Levy an ultimatum: me or Holtby?

...hopefully Levy doesn't take this ultimatum too literally or we'll have Holtby as our manager next season.

And the downside of that would be exactly??? :D

I just read Sherwood saying "there's no guarantee someone from the outside will come in and do better than Danny Rose or any other player".

Hmm. So Sherwood believes that levels of footballing competence are a valid reason to not play our best midfielder (and instead play a pairing of a hugely ineffective Paulinho and an inverted winger whose also shown a sum total of **** all and can't pass and can't shoot and certainly can't tackle). But at the same time there can be no reason to think that Ashley Cole would be better at left back than Danny Rose.

I know he's just saying crap to the media but with performances and team selections as woeful as they have been I worry about his criteria for judging players. Or if there even are any.

Anyway - it's a pretty damn bleak outlook to not think we could have a better left back than Danny Rose.

I agree we should keep turnover to a minimum. I don't think Rose is as bad as some of you (not that that's saying very much). He's fast at least, and I overvalue athleticism over skill, being an American.

It's not that I wouldn't take a top left back if we could get one. It's that I'm more concerned we finally get our Modric replacement. If we had someone suitable, I'd take my chances on our attacking midfielders and strikers.

When I try to analyze what Liverpool did right this year, a lot of it is Gerrard and others sending long passes to an attacking trio or quartet who are sprinting to get onto them and create a chance before the defense settles.

And, yeah, it would be nice to have next year's manager play an important part in personnel decisions. But I'm not convinced anyone in the world knows who that will be ATM.
