The Club are broadcasting tonight's awards dinner for the first time, so those of us who aren't fortunate enough to attend can follow the whole night. Thought I'd get this up a couple of hours in advance so those who don't already know about it will do, and may get the chance to watch. Tonight's Awards Tonight will see the award of six separate accolades, and they will be presented in the following order: Eterna Players’ Player of the Season - Sponsored by main club sponsor Eterna, this award is intended to recognise the Player of the Season, as voted for by the entire first team squad. eye4TALENT Scholar of the Season - Sponsored by eye4TALENT, a Scandinavian scouting and performance analysis company. This award is given by the first team and academy coaching staff to recognise the youth-teamer who has made the biggest impression across the course of the campaign. Saints Travel Club Away Player of the Season - First team player of the Season award, voted for and selected by Saints fans who have travelled to 2013/14 away fixtures with official travel partner Coliseum Coaches. The President’s Choice Award - A member of the squad, selected by the Honorary Club President Terry Paine MBE, who has personally impressed Terry during his displays throughout the 2013/14 campaign. Justice Goal of the Season - Sponsored by Justice Jewellers based in Winchester, this award will be voted upon during the course of tonight's event. A shortlist will be announced during the night, before all present guests are invited to select their favourite. Verteda Fans’ Player of the Season - Sponsored by Verteda IT Solutions, this is tonight's main award. This award recognises the Player of the Season, as voted for by Saints fans on the club's official website over the past month or so. The Winners Eterna Players’ Player of the Season - Adam Lallana eye4TALENT Scholar of the Season - Jake Hesketh Saints Travel Club Away Player of the Season - Adam Lallana The President’s Choice Award - Jack Cork Justice Goal of the Season - Adam Lallana vs Hull City Verteda Fans’ Player of the Season - Adam Lallana The event will be hosted by Ed Chamberlin, Saints fan and host of Sky Sports' Monday Night Football coverage. Guests include Matthew Le Tissier. When tonight's broadcast is due to go live I will post the video link into this post at the top of the page. I will also attempt to collect and post all other pieces of interest from tonight, for example photos, and post them onto this thread. DTLW
Be interesting to see who is Scholar of the Year...give us someone to keep an eye on. I would be surprised if Lallana doesn't get both the fans' and players' Player of the Year. I wonder if Dani's goal will be up for an award
I was thinking, I wouldn't be surprised if Jay got Players' player. If Adam took both, I wouldn't be surprised to see Terry Paine choose Jay though.
There should be a special team of the year award and manager of the year. They have been a pleasure to watch.
I think you're right. He deserves something, but perhaps not the main award, and the "president's choice" points to a diplomatic choice. To be fair though, he'd have to be a contender for "away player" considering how many of his goals were scored away from home.
Fan messages and the like will be shown on a big screen throughout the night. To join in you simply tweet a message or post a Facebook message to the club using '#SFCAwards2014' and they will appear, as below. please log in to view this image
Saints have got a 'Twitter mirror' in the reception so when the guests arrive they can post a photo onto the club's account. please log in to view this image
Interesting. All guests who post a photo using the Twitter mirror get uploaded straight to the club's Twitter accounts. It says "#SFCAwards2014 with (name)" - nice touch for fans, that. I won't post them but will keep eyes peeled for any of the players/staff...
He should be rather better at it this time. At least we all know he can say "the decision killed the game", though hopefully that won't come up tonight!
Pfft, this is all ****. Was much better back in the day when the players would reluctantly turn up at the Dell Social Club, swiftly have one drink and then piss off. Although I remember Mark Dennis staying the whole evening once & drinking everyone under the table. "twitter mirror" **** OFF!
