No doubt we need to concede fewer goals- but I disagree we're conceding because SAS aren't scoring. Everyone is tracking back at the same time. I think our "weak defence" is an exaggeration- as pointed out- there are a number of teams in the top 10 conceding more. In recent games- Chelsea scored against us 1st because of an error- and 2nd because we were in all out attack mode throwing everyone forwards in the last few mins of the game to get an equalizer. Crystal Palace was a bit of an anomaly. I think all our players had exhausted themselves- they were all having an off-period at the same time and got a little shell-shocked.
49 goals conceded is really bad. Its a clear sign of having no defence. In fact just leaving a massive gap would be the better option for you guys imo.
OR... it shows a team that plays open football. We have 2nd best GD in the league... It doesn't matter conceding as long as you score! We've scored more than anyone else and 11 teams have conceded more than us. We've scored over twice as many as we've conceded. Only City and Chelsea can say the same this season. A defensive team that parks the bus will concede fewer but probably won't win the league. I'd rather concede less- but not at the expense of drawing games instead of winning. We conceded fewer goals last season- but I wouldn't swap this season for last season!
