I don't get all the Palace hating either. For ****'s sake, we should be enjoying the fact that a club which, like us, have never won **** all, are upsetting the applecart by getting results against ****s like Liverpool, who think they have a divine right to silverware. And the snobbishness about the style of football they play is embarrassing. We have no right to judge another club on the way they play, cos our way has never won us a ****ing thing either. Shake yer heads, silly ****s.
Before the game against Liverpool, Palace were joint bottom (with Norwich) for the lowest scorers in the EPL but were 7th for the best defence. Pulis has done marvels with them this season all credit to the bloke.
Watched it all, with a LFC pal, and CP did not snatch anything. Both GK made good stops, the posts did the same; the football was decent and CP simply hit a season-long wobbly defence with pace and finish - unless football has changed, I thought that was the point. I would have thought the backbiting about CP would have stopped as they turned us and their season around - well done to them and Pullis, they deserve every point and plaudits they receive.
When I saw them against Newcastle a couple of months ago I thought they'd go down. They sat deep, showed no real ambition and conceded a last minute goal to lose 1-0. But I suppose on another day, they could have nicked it. They're not pretty. They play by stopping the opposition. But their style is effective. The 3,2,1 from the Championship finished 1,2,3 and you've got to credit them for that. Think they'll go down next season however.
Didn't wanna say this but possibly so, if we don't strengthen. Especially with a European campaign. I'm away to buy extra socks in the hope that several pairs will explode on my feet over the next few months.
Fair play to Palace. They've turned it around & look pretty good against decent sides. Wish we were that hard to beat. Glad Delaney is doing well.
Lucky Palace more like. Liverpool lost the title last week when Gerrard slipped. Liverpool have shown in the last 2 games why they are not good enough to win the PL just yet. If Chelsea let them go then Rodgers needs to grab both Cole and Terry.
What on earth would someone like John Terry do in a city full of scallies, shoplifters and... oh, wait.
Face facts people, you may not like Palace nor Pulis but no way could you call them boring for that 2nd half. Bolasie & Gayle scared the **** out of the inept Johnson & piss poor Sakho. Daniel Agger's injuries have cost them the title, combined with the seemingly hysterical call for busting the GD when 3-0 up.. you could feel the childish commentators growing in excitement until Delaney's goal flies in. A club of LFC's stature should NOT concede 3 goals and expect to win the league. Newcastle under Keegan springs to mind: great to watch for the neutral but with a soft underbelly. Rodgers will learn from his mistake NOT to do a Chelsea and shut up shop.. how the dog's tail bites..
A lot of the comments on this thread are, frankly, a disgrace. Palace have been exceptional since Pulis took over and to say "we're miles better than them" is f**king pathetic. Can anyone be bothered to work out the respective points accrued in that time? I think they'd be pretty telling. This thread, or rather those agreeing with the OP, is an embarrassment. Just saw this, as I thought. And people - or just PLT - still say we're better....
This is it. We're straying into West Ham/Newcastle ways of thinking. Credit to Palace, they've done brilliantly well and deserve praise.
it looks as though two promoted teams have cost liverpool the League, the game last night and the game we won at the KC could also be the difference which as kept us up
