Palace fans have a lot to learn from City about how to be football fans. They should have been sat in silence before streaming for the exits instead of remaining behind making a noise. Even at 3-3 they should have had people leaving early with it being a night match and needing to get home.
I know you always rave about how brilliant palace fans are and always reject notions for tacky foreign things like goal music/drums/choreography/those gay tannoy chants where the fans shout something back to the announcer. All those things are what get the palace fans going and without them their atmosphere would most likely be flat along with the other 91 professional clubs in England. Can't have it both ways.
Stoke fans used to be **** before they went up. It was usually full in the Boothen End and then half empty in the other stands. Always been overrated.
Whenever an opposition player takes a corner in front of them they're all foaming trying to get at him. They're a bit obsessed with the 'hostile' atmosphere thing that a Pulis team loves and it just makes them ****s imo. Have you been to Stoke?! In fact did you see them with Townsend last week? They all loved it when Cameron tried to break his legs and cheered the deliberate attempt to hurt him. Over-rated in terms of noise but they're detestable.
Erm, every single one of them that is reporting it correctly. And back to the OP, why is he ****ting his pants about this? We've even done it at the KC before - we know what it is and how it works, we just dont call it a f**king choreo. The problem was though it was organised by the club and the tit with the mic said "now" to hold your cards up which made it all a bit sanitised. I have never heard anyone in Italy call it a Choreo where it happens for every f**king big match.
I don't always rave about Palace fans. However the atmosphere, for whatever reason, is better than at the KC. Of course that is not difficult. Leaving aside the organised chanting compare the situation for our games against Liverpool. Palace down 3-0 with 11 minutes to go and nobody leaving, everyone stays to the end and applauds them for their performance in a game which didn't matter to Palace. City on their way to an historic win over Liverpool at a time points were needed and with 10 minutes to go the usual exodus starts. At the final whistle the players are faced with a half empty East Stand and large gaps elsewhere as they celebrate the win. Which do you think the players would prefer and which inspires the team more? No doubt we will have the usual apologists on explaining the unique difficulties faced by people in Hull in getting home after a game.
It's a valid point. Is anyone who regularly leaves early prepared to come on here and explain why they do it? Seriously, what difference does getting home half an hour earlier really make to your life? If you're not bothered about watching the game, why go in the first place? A lot start leaving after 85 mins and that, as an average, means they miss probably 9 minutes of the game. That's 10% of your entire experience you're missing. Would someone leave the cinema or theatre early or walk out of a restaurant with half their meal left 'to beat the rush'? I literally have no concept of udnerstanding this.
I do love the idea that he thinks people have never seen a choreographed fans display, rather than never having heard the ****y term Choreo.
I didn't realise that was what it meant until reading this. That really is a ****y term. Why would you focus on the word choreographed? Still it suits Palace down to a tee I suppose.
