I think Colback will be great here if we get him. I think Sissoko really flourished when the team was playing well but doesn't have the ability to make the team play well when things are going bad. Maybe that will change next season but in reality we need game changers.

Hope so, don't doubt he's a good player but I just think he's similar to what we've already got. If he get 7 or 8 goals a season then it would be brilliant, like it was with Cabaye.

Im not that big a fan of sissoko, mind he has potential and thats as much as we can hope for cos as soon as he fulfils it he'll be out the door quicker than Walcott on speed.
I do think with a manager that has a clear game plan and commands the players respects can sort sissoko out, berate him for his lazy moments, selfish decision making and over excessive touches we can make a clinical engine of him.
As for Colback, **** yeah take him on. Worst case scenario he takes goslings place as forgotten man, best case we get ourselves a proper fan in the heart of midfield to try his arse off when the chips are down. Sometimes thats all it takes to fire up the disinterested players around them.

Aye but HBA is a complete waste of space who needs to be sold. He has cost double what he has provided/scored with his schoolboy football in poor areas.

Be interesting to see our derby performances should we sign him. Colback scoring at the SOL against that lot....

I think you're exaggerating a bit. He lost the ball and cost us a few goals, but he was our only way forward in many matches and came on as a sub when we were pushing far up the pitch trying to get an equilizer or a winner.

We all know the sort of player he is and bringing him on in such circumstance is a gamble. You either win the gamble or lose it. It's not just him making bad decisions.

He's proven that in the right set up he's a fantastic asset to the side. When we played 4-3-3 and he was given more freedom to fly, he was at the heart of many of our attacks, but Pardew being a w**ker decided to change back to 4-4-2 for some stupid reason, most likely to please Demba Ba who was obviously upset being on the wing.

Imagine if we had kept that 4-3-3 system going? We could have carried on playing good football, scoring goals, and if Ba got pissed and left we could have gotten Remy who actually prefers to come in off the LW!

Ben Arfa has been Pardew'd, as they say. He's obviously used as a scapegoat by Pardew to take the blame off him and the coaching team for **** tactics.

You cannot have your tactics fail and then blame a player like Ben Arfa who you basically are praying for him to score a world class goal to save you.

Ben Arfa just needs to be in a side and set up that suits him, just like Wayne Routledge.

Routledge was poor in our 4-4-2 system. He offered nothing to the defence and struggled as that sort of winger. He left for Swansea that play an attacking, pacey style and he started scoring goals and playing major parts in Swansea attacks, and he was a great player up until recently when Swansea have declined and changed style.

I'm not saying we should completely cater to Ben Arfa, but he has a lot of ability and we could easily utilize it but we decide "no, the **** can adapt or f**k off". This doesn't always work.

Look at what Sherwood did with Adebayor. AVB didn't play him because he had an attitude, and he obviously decided all those who don't respect him and play the way he wanted wont get games.

Sherwood realised Adebayor is a ****... but a talented ****, and he started scoring immediately because Sherwood knows how to man manage his team, rather than just expecting everyone to act like a professional, which is a stupid way of looking at it. It's idealistic, not realistic.

Compelling argument. If my reasoning doesn't prove it to you, then look at the stats. Created and scored just as much as Sissoko in less than half the time.

Cheers Tash :D. I'd drag out the stats on goals cost but its been done to death. Realistically I know what I've watched with my own eyes with HBA, he doesn't give a **** about this football club. His conditioning alone would mean I wouldn't want him here without discussing onfield events.

I personally think he does care about the fans, and that we won his heart with our warmth that we showed him during his spells of injury. He wants to please us, but he's just not a professional. He wants to be a hero, not a footballer. But he has undeniable talent and he's proven he can do well in a good set up.

That was under Pardew though, so it kind of knackers his argument that the manager is the problem.

I don't deny he has talent though. You can't score some of the goals he has without it.

I just don't believe such a corrosive element has any place in a modern football club.

Honestly has it been? Because I haven't seen it. I'd appreciate it if you would drag them out. Do you have one on Tiote while you're there?
