I know we only.really need a point to stay up, but winning the last two would give such an impetus fir next season.

We'd start the season having won our last 5 league games. I have seen sides stay up comfortably but start the following season poorly as they have ended with a couple of losses. Start next season with a winning mentality could be what we need to push into the mid table bracket

If we win the next two it's very possible we'll finish 12th, which would be remarkable all things considered

Come on lads, make it 5 in a row

Poyet will be desperate to present a 'winning formula' to Short before the transfer window.

The players will be just as keen to play for contracts/moves/pride ......... after the turmoil, at the club, players & supporters want to sign off in a great mood.

I can't wait for Wednesday, a 'Cardiff style win' would allow the supporters to enjoy the match and show their support without the usual nerves.

(and it may also put us above hull which would be funny considering the way they went on this season!)

Yes but they'll claim they've had the distraction of a cup final whereas Sunderland haven't .......... oh, hang on though <laugh>

No, it's because Bruce has suffered the usual slump we all warned them about. Oh how they railed against that ludicrous suggestion!

I reckon it'll be a boring 0-0 draw on Wednesday as that'll benefit and ensure both clubs safety in the PL

It won't happen mate, the players know they have a big debt to the supporters for sticking with them through all the ****.

I'll expect, and demand, a great performance from Sunderland and will be gutted if we don't go for it.

We have soaring confidence, players bang in form and league placings to play for as well as pride.

Besides, we could still go down ....... it's no time to relax and I bet West Brom will want to do the double over us.

Newcastle's 'lap of honour' was in front of a few thousand fans, waiting for the traffic to clear .... I don't want Sunday to be like that for us.

I doubt Poyet and the players will want to throw away the last few weeks by finishing 4th bottom.

Perhaps you should address that to marcusblackcat, it was him who brought Hull into the thread ....... I was just responding.

Besides, I am concentrating on our own games but it doesn't mean every single post has to be about that alone does it?

Every place higher we finish is means a lot more money than in previous seasons, say if we finish 13 it will be worth a grand total of £70,852,000 where as if we finish where we are now we'll only get £66,345,000. We've got to aim for 41 points, we need every penny we can get.
