I suggest you stop living in your little scouse bubble, and start paying attention to football elsewhere. La Liga is miles ahead of the PL at the moment. 2 La Liga sides are in the CL final, and Sevilla are in the Europa League final. Barca made the QF of the CL only to be eliminated by another La Liga side, and Valencia made the SF of the Europa, and they where also eliminated by another La Liga side. So Spanish sides are pretty much unbeaten against sides from other country's in Europe this season in the knockout stages

    Hatred? Not at all.

Theres been a media campaign to paint liverpool as worthy champions all season. The media have gone soft on suarez as it would contradict their push for liverpool to be champions.

Ok, all tribal mud-slinging apart, do you honestly believe that?
I would say that all that's happened is that the media have softened their overall attitude to Liverpool because of their success, and the way it's been achieved.
The perspective of all non Utd fans has been, for many years, that the media fawn over them constantly. This year, with their relative failure, many of those journos have been starting to get a few digs in.
It seems that many in the media are the equivalent of plastics, and merely support whoever is doing well.

However, if Liverpool were to be Champions, then we would be worthy of it, just as if we fall short, that will also be our true level and there'll be few complaints from me.
Liverpool's success and current position is entirely a result of the way we've played, the media haven't won any points for us.

    Yes IF you win it

The press have been claiming you deserve to win it when im fact you dont. You will earn it. If you dont earn it you qont win it.

    That easy enough?

Care to point out where that is different to what I said here?
I did try to have a sensible discussion with you, but you don't seem interested.....
    Oh, well.
It's the main reason I get fed up with this board from time to time.

Don't bother answering, I'm off to find something more satisfying to do- shouldn't be too difficult.

    Have fun.

Failed to address the point about the media trying to claim you deserve it before you have earned it...

Because no one has ever had sentimentality towards them in the media as they near the twilight of their career or no team favoured because they're the underdogs in a Roy of the Rovers type storyline? It's how they make news out of nothing to sell papers to idiots with no opinion of their own. Consider Gerrard's last legs, Liverpool's barren spell, the Hillsborough anniversary, a young manager and playing attacking/attractive football and it's easy to see why people fawned over us this year. Next year, I'd put money on them having a love-in with a different team. Maybe Spuds will be on the up again.

Suarez won the Football Writer's Association player of the year award.

    Gerrard came 2nd with Y.Toure coming 3rd.

Gerrard hasn't even been the 2nd best player at Liverpool this season, Sturridge and Henderson have both been better than him, and Obviously Suarez has to. Gerrard has got a fair few goals, but most of them have been from the penalty spot:biggrin:
