You must be bloody joking. Meyler has been a great addition to the squad, has scored some critical goals, and has a fantastic attitude. WTF are you on about!!!
when Meyler is near goal he's good - anywhere else he's hopeless - his passing , his tackling, his running back, his poor marking, his constant diving is embarrassing - he's hardly a creative midfield general is he? - he's only in the team cos Brady and Aluko are injured, furthermore Quinny is better and should start anyway - Bruce is always subbing him cos he's crap - think you're the one who is joking mate
I don't think he's as bad as you make out, but I agree about him spending a lot of time on his arse. His link up play has ranged from superb to shocking this season, but he's one of those players that can suddenly turn up in games and score goals. I'd have him in the team, but I do agree that Quinn is the better player, technique wise.
Agree completely. Quinn's control and link-up play is excellent - but Meyler offers more physical presence and a ridiculous engine. Of course he's going to get subbed a lot - he's very much the third man alongside Thudd and Livermore, and Bruce will be telling him to run until he drops. It might not always be pretty, but he does a job for his manager.
On the Meyler falling over a lot, people complaining about diving, also in the past people complaining we don't get enough penalties & FK's because our players are **** at getting the fouls. Meyler is the one player who can get knocked over & look like he's been fouled. Against Villa I noticed that he was running & when the player behind him got close he stopped, forcing the defender to push him over. It's also the case with the game v Cardiff last season. He was played on the left v Villa too which didn't help. Don't know why SB did that really.
