I would love it if Chelsea were overtaken by Arsenal but they visit relegated Cardiff so it's practically impossible :bandit:

What really pisses me off about the chavs is their defence and midfield dive every time they get dispossessed, especially Cahill and Sideshow. Serial divers

just looked at the table myself,

ours and citys stats are identical expect the ruddy GA column(yes i appreciate important one but weird how it looks), scored same amount, won, drawn and lost same amount, we just need a Kompany or another Hyypia :(

maybe jb, not sure if its the goalie making the defence nervous, or we just don't have someone as dominant as a Kompany or Hyypia back there, Sakho may be that next season but we needed it this.

i do think migs has saved us some vital points this season, and at times with reina felt he has cost us lots of ptts and then moaned about us not getting top 4, when he was part the problem.

migs is the future, not done too bad in his first season <ok>

Reina's the complete package, Migs has a lot to learn but yes I agree he has made some vital saves but flapped one heck of a lot too.

I doubt Reina will be back which I understand but am sorry about, Migs could learn a lot from him - organising and being vocal. I reckon we've missed Carra for that organisation as well.

Just a side point - where are we up to with Coates, I think he could come good in a Hyypia way.

Hole defence thing has been spoken about loads but just to re-iterate what I've been saying before.

    Mig (new)
    Johnson
    Skrtel
    Toure (new)
    Sakho (new)
    Agger
    Flannagan (newish)
    Cissokho (new)

At times this year we've only had 1 or at a max 2 players that aren't new in the team. We've very rarely been able to pick a settled back 4 and even if you stick the best 4 defenders in the world together they're going to struggle with that. Add in Gerrard playing in front of them and he's new to that role then it's going to take some time before they all get organised and used to each other.

Also add the fact that our forwards are better and Rodger's has developed an "attack is the best form of defence" policy this year and it's always going to be difficult.

i think Coates is a gonna personally.

just feel if it wasn't for his injury we would have tried to get rid, he hasn't had much game time, so be surprised if he is given it now, but then again if we keep Kelly as well, then who knows.

bit weird he was player of the tournament, and since i havent seen anything to justify it, might be a confidence thing, who knows.

A good defence needs a good vocal organiser in it like Carragher, no matter how unused to each other the players are etc. This year as well as not having a settled back four, there hasn't been one standout defender organising the others and I can't see who we've got who will take on that role.

I'd forgotten all about him and when you mentioned Hyypia I was thinking about height-wise who we had. It's funny that the only thing I recall about Coates is that amazing overhead goal he scored.

Hopefully Sakho will be that player in a year or two. He's only young I know but he was made captain at a young age so obviously has something about him from a leadership point of view. Hopefully he'll be vocal enough to organise as well once he's fluent in English <ok>
