UEFA Champions League qualification 1. UEFA Champions League - group stage 2. UEFA Champions League - group stage 3. UEFA Champions League - group stage 4. UEFA Champions League - play-off stage UEFA Europa League Generally speaking there are three UEFA Europa League places given to English clubs who fulfil the following criteria: winning the FA Cup, winning the Capital One Cup and finishing fifth in the Barclays Premier League. However, if the Capital One Cup winners finish in the top four, their UEFA Europa League place goes to the next-highest ranked team in the Barclays Premier League (nominally the sixth-placed team). If the FA Cup winners finish in the top four, their UEFA Europa League place goes to the runners-up. How it stands This season, as Manchester City won the Capital One Cup and are likely to finish in the top four, their place will go to the club who finish sixth in the Barclays Premier League table. The FA Cup adds another layer of possibilities. If Arsenal beat Hull City in the 17 May final and finish fourth they will qualify for the UEFA Champions League and Steve Bruceâs side will enter the UEFA Europa League as runners-up. Fair Play League As it stands this could be Swansea
Sorry if I'm misunderstanding, but the UEFA website says we go in at the qualifying stage in September if we win the cup and in the 3rd round of qualifiers on 31/7 and 7/8 if we lose. I thought that was fairly clear from the links posted. http://www.footballseeding.com/european-cups/europa-league-14-15/
"This page shows UEFA Europa League seeding in season 2014 / 2015. All informations are currently unofficial." Even on the above sites we are in the group stage.
We do not have any Fair Play places (at the moment). http://www.footballseeding.com/european-cups/access-list-for-14-15/
Funny so many getting riled over which bit of Europe competition we start off in. Poor old ManU don't even have that luxury. Gotta laugh.
Not in the (official) site I linked we're not. It's only the seedings that are 'unofficial' the group stage/qualifier bit's fairly standard based on other years.
The FA Cup winners, no matter what their coefficient, are guaranteed a group stage place.# The national cup winners of the top 6 countries in the coefficient (bar Germany, due to their final being between two UCL teams) all automatically go into the group stages. FACT.
The good thing is, I may be mistaken in this, but if we enter the qualifiers as an english team we get seeded so its unlikely we would play a top team until the play-off. Swansea had Malmo in the qualifier and then Petrolul. So its likely we would get some unknown side unless we were unlucky
I no nothing and care even less about all these permutations. All i do know is we will somehow get Inter ****ing Milan and some **** will be unbearable!!!
