Anyone think WBA and Sunderland will "arrange" a draw midweek?

It puts WBA mathematically safe, and Sunderland would be three points ahead of us with a goal difference 13 better, so effectively safe.

Good fight today, though I suspect it's too little too late.

I think we could beat Arsenal if it's not over by then. All Sunderland need is 1 more point and I think you will win both of your home games.

Time to agree to disagree then <laugh>

I will admit that I would have preferred to see Hooper thrown on with 5 - 10 minutes normal time left, but as Chelsea are normally so good on the break, that might have been a suicide call. It's a tough one today, there was too much riding on the result to be totally rational (being a supporter through and through).

As for RVW, I think I have made my stance quite clear - he can sod off tomorrow for all I care <laugh>

Sad to say, but it´s one thing to start with that formation and keep it tight until half time, great game plan and it worked a treat, but to continue in the same vein, only changing Elmander for Redmond, being seemingly content with a draw is hard to fathom. A draw to us, is in all likelihood no better than a defeat, at least throw the kitchen sink at them for the final 10 mins, and if we get beaten then okay, but to not even try, is disappointing.

As I said above, it was a tough one today. I agree in principle, but while there were more than 30 seconds left in the game, there was always half a chance of snatching a goal and not conceding one. Today was probably an impossible position for any manager.

At least while he was still here, a draw would have been fine, today it was no good to us at all . :( but I suppose it puts off the inevitable until midweek.

Seems as if when Norwich attacked Chelsea they caused them problems...Good job you didn't do that from the off or else HCAFC v. Everton could have been a right nervy affair.

I think we did try but Chelsea were desperate for the points too. When Chelsea play Norwich at Stamford Bridge and both teams need a win, who's going to have more of the ball? We did as much as we could. Had we brought on another striker we would have lost in all likelihood.

Throw the kitchen sink at Chelsea in the last 10 mins and your playing right into their hands, their team is built for this scenario, a smash and grab on the counter. There were some decent discussions on the Liverpool forum last week on the subject of how to break down/win against a team like Chelsea, masters at the game they play, a point might well not be enough, but you did well to get it.
